I really don’t understand how someone can be suffering and still believe that God is preparing them for greatness. Bad governance and poor economic policies are taking away your youthful years and productive opportunities, yet you can’t even see it.
At every religious gathering, you will be re-echoing, “I claim it,” “I receive it.” One of the things I really dislike about religion in this part of the world is the false hope and illusion of divine intervention it sometimes gives people.
Many people can’t even join hands to demand good governance because their pastors have convinced them that they are operating in a different realm, a heavenly realm, where when others are saying there is a casting down, they will be saying there is a lifting up.
No matter what the APC government does or how badly it performs, they believe it is not meant for the people of God. This mentality that “God is the one taking care of my family and me” can be dangerous. Believe me, if religion were not in the picture and people could clearly see that the government is responsible for doing its job, they would demand more accountability from those in power.
But as long as they are convinced that miracle money will locate them and that unmerited favour is their portion, they will continue to pray for things that ordinarily require practical solutions.
People will continue to fast and pray for what good governance could have taken care of.
THE ART OF READING PEOPLE (PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS REVEAL THEMSELVES)
1. WATCH THE GAP BETWEEN THEIR WORDS AND ACTIONS.
Anyone can say the right thing. Pay attention to whether their actions consistently agree with what they say.
If someone constantly talks about honesty but lies when it benefits them, believe the behaviour, not the speech.
2. WATCH HOW THEY TREAT PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOTHING TO OFFER THEM.
Pay attention to how someone treats waiters, cleaners, drivers, junior colleagues, security guards, or anyone they believe is beneath them.
A person's character is often clearer when there is nothing to gain from being nice.
3. WATCH HOW THEY BEHAVE WHEN THEY ARE ANGRY.
Anger does not automatically make someone a bad person, but it can reveal how they handle frustration.
Do they communicate, or do they insult, threaten, become violent, break things, or deliberately hurt people?
4. WATCH HOW THEY RESPOND TO “NO.”
This is one of the simplest ways to learn about someone.
Can they accept rejection and boundaries without becoming hostile, manipulative, or vindictive?
Someone who respects you only when you give them what they want does not really respect you.
5. WATCH WHETHER THEY TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.
Everybody makes mistakes.
The question is what happens afterwards.
Do they admit when they are wrong, apologise, and correct their behaviour, or is everyone else always responsible for what happens to them?
6. BE CAREFUL WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE ALWAYS THE VICTIM.
If someone tells you story after story in which they are always innocent and everyone else is always evil, pay attention.
A person who never sees their own contribution to a problem will probably repeat the same pattern.
7. WATCH HOW THEY HANDLE YOUR BOUNDARIES.
Tell someone you are unavailable. Say no to a request. Disagree with them.
Then watch what happens.
A reasonable person may be disappointed, but he or she will still respect your decision.
8. WATCH WHETHER THEIR BEHAVIOUR CHANGES WHEN THERE IS SOMETHING TO GAIN.
Some people become incredibly nice when they need something from you.
Watch what happens after they get it.
9. WATCH HOW THEY TALK ABOUT PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT PRESENT.
If someone constantly exposes other people's private information to you, do not assume you will somehow become the exception.
The person who brings you someone else's secrets today may take yours to someone else tomorrow.
10. WATCH HOW THEY HANDLE ACCOUNTABILITY.
Give them a legitimate criticism and see what they do with it.
Do they listen and consider it, or immediately become defensive, attack you, change the subject, or turn the criticism back on you?
11. WATCH WHAT THEY DO WHEN NOBODY IS WATCHING.
Character is not just how someone behaves when there is an audience.
Pay attention to what they do when there are no rewards, no applause, and no consequences for doing otherwise.
12. FOCUS ON PATTERNS, NOT MOMENTS.
This is perhaps the most important one. Don’t judge people by one bad day or one mistake. Read them by the patterns they repeatedly show you. You need to be observant enough to recognise what keeps happening.
Dear young woman, take this seriously!!!
There is a difference between a man who wants to build a life with you and a man who wants to build a life where you have no power outside of him.
A man who loves you should not be threatened by your growth. He should not need you to remain financially dependent, socially isolated, professionally stagnant or completely consumed with taking care the home forever just so he can feel like “the man”.
Be careful of any man who insists that his wife must never have anything of her own. No career, no business, no skills, no income, no network, no ambitions and no identity beyond being his wife and the mother of his children.
Because when one person controls the money, the resources, the opportunities and the entire structure of the home, the other person becomes heavily & completely reliant on them.
Today, he may call it protection of his duty. But omorrow, that same dependence will become a very unhealthy control.
He may begin deciding what you can buy, where you can go, who you can speak to, whether you can work and what you are “allowed” to pursue. And because you have nothing of your own, leaving even when you desperately need to will be impossible. Many women have had to remain in marriages where the husbands are chronically toxic, slapping them, cheating every week etc.
Never romanticise a situation where your entire survival depends on another human being’s success, mood, character or goodwill.
And no, having something of your own does not mean you do not love your husband or kids. Having a career, business, skill, savings, education or independent source of income does not mean you are preparing to leave your marriage.
It means you are a whole human being.
You can be a devoted wife and still have a life outside the kitchen….
You can be a loving mother and still have ambitions…
You can build a home and still build yourself…
You can submit to your husband’s leadership, according to your beliefs, without surrendering your capacity to survive if circumstances change...
Life is unpredictable, people change, marriages change, circumstances change, death happens, i llness happens, betrayal happens, dvorce happens and sometimes, the person you trusted with everything may become the very person you need protection from.
Do not wait until you are trapped to realise that dependence is not the same thing as love.
Please, have something doing!!!!
Learn a skill, build a business, have a profession, save when you can, maintain meaningful relationships. Keep learning, know how to make money, know how to manage money and know who you are outside of being someone’s wife.
It does not have to be glamorous, does not have to make you rich Alakija. It simply needs to give you some measure of capacity, independence, dignity and choice.
Never hand someone your entire birthright and assume love will guarantee they will always treat it gently.
Love your husband, build your home, raise your children. But do not disappear inside those responsibilities. Do not reduced your entire existence to that of a dog!!!
Make sure that if life ever demands that you stand on your own feet, you still remember how.
Do not say you were not informed!!!!
THINGS THEY DON’T TEACH YOU ABOUT LIFE: PERSONAL GROWTH
1. Take your personal hygiene seriously. Being clean, smelling good, having fresh breath, keeping your nails and clothes clean, and taking care of your appearance are basic forms of self-respect.
2. Read books outside your comfort zone. Don’t only read what confirms your beliefs. Read history, philosophy, economics, psychology, literature, and ideas you disagree with. The more perspectives you encounter, the better you understand the world.
3. Conquer your biases. Learn to recognise when your tribal, religious, political, gender or personal sentiments are influencing your judgment. You cannot claim to be objective while changing your standards depending on who is involved.
4. Learn to change your mind. Being wrong is not an intellectual failure. Refusing to change your position after the evidence has changed is.
5. Stop living to impress people. Some people spend money they don't have, maintain relationships they don't enjoy and pursue careers they don't want simply because they want to look successful. Build a life you actually enjoy living.
6. Become financially responsible. You don't need to be rich before learning how to budget, save, avoid unnecessary debt and control your spending. More money will not fix financial irresponsibility.
7. Learn to genuinely enjoy your own company. If you constantly need attention or companionship to feel okay, you become vulnerable to staying in relationships or circumstances you should have left.
8. Learn to receive criticism without immediately becoming defensive. The person criticising you may be wrong, but sometimes they are pointing out something about you that you don’t want to hear. Learn to listen anyway. You may discover something that helps you grow.
9. Learn to disagree without turning it into a fight or resorting to insults. You haven’t really grown if you can’t have an argument with someone without making it personal.
10. Don’t confuse confidence with arrogance. Confidence means knowing your worth without needing everyone to recognise it. Arrogance needs constant validation from others.
11. Learn something difficult every year. A language, skill, professional qualification. Keep giving your brain reasons to grow. Do not joke with your personal development.
12. Learn to keep promises to yourself. Every time you repeatedly tell yourself you will do something and don't, you teach yourself that your own word means very little.
13. Learn to recognise when you are the problem. Not every failed relationship, friendship, job or business can be blamed on other people. Sometimes the common denominator is you.
14. Learn basic cooking and household skills. Being an adult should mean being able to take care of yourself when nobody is around to do it for you.
15. Know when to speak and when to stay silent. Not every thought needs to be expressed. Sometimes intelligence is knowing that the right thing to say is nothing.
16. Learn how to have difficult conversations. Avoiding uncomfortable conversations does not eliminate the problem. It usually allows resentment, misunderstanding or consequences to grow.
17. You need to learn how to disappoint people. If your entire life depends on people being pleased with you, you are not living freely. Sometimes growth means saying no, or making a decision people around you will not agree with.
18. Self-awareness without self-correction is useless. Knowing that you are impatient, insecure, arrogant, lazy or emotionally reactive does not make you mature. The real growth begins when you start correcting the behaviour.
19. Your inability to tolerate discomfort will keep you trapped. Deny yourself some temporary comfort for a better future.
20. The ultimate form of growth is becoming someone you can trust. Someone who can control his impulses, make difficult decisions, admit when he is wrong, walk away when necessary and do what needs to be done even when nobody is watching.
Bathong!! I’m so left behind hle.. I need a Press Conference just so I get updated on the latest developments. Hhaybo.. Someone please fill me in re: 59 year old cop, is it really him?
Unrelated clip .. Here General is explaining about the arr. See, he doesn’t shoot if you don’t shoot first 🤷🏿♀️
Bulking season is fully upon us; if you're bulking, make sure you do it right.
When I first got rid of all my body fat, I had a DEXA scan done. It came back at 7.3% body fat. I was the guy on the left.
I was 6'8", 210 pounds. That was the lowest I weighed since I was in 8th grade. I was 32 years old at the time.
It's funny, I always told people I had "a lot of muscle under my fat", and "the BMI was a sham". Turns out I was full of shit, I didn't have nearly as much muscle as I thought I did.
The crazy part was the fat guy who thought he had lots of muscle? Yeah, he went to the gym regularly. But he made a LOT of mistakes.
He didn't eat enough protein.
His diet was shit.
He didn't train his whole body.
He thought doing cardio was good enough for legs.
He didn't track his workouts.
He trained chest and arms every workout.
And wouldn't you know it? He basically gained no muscle as a result.
From that point on, I've made muscle gain a priority. I've gone on 8 bulks, followed by cuts. I've netted about 25 pounds of muscle gain over the years, naturally.
I've also coached 100's men on how to get similar results.
If you want my step-by-step instructions on how to gain muscle the right way, just check out the next tweet, it's free today.
We don't have celebrities in Nigeria doing the things he's doing for his people here.
Bro isn't about the luxury lifestyle or in any competition with anyone. He's all about his people growth.
While we have celebrity in Nigeria driving luxury cars worth millions of dollars in a bad road to a club so poor Nigerians hail them, he rather use the money to invest in his country while creating job opportunities for his people.
Sadio Mané is an inspiration to me of the kind of person i will become as soon as I become a billionaire.
Every day, i pray to make money so I become a blessing to my family, friends and society at large because I know if my wealth doesn't reflect on others, my money means nothing.
Once all your income is digital or 95%+
You just lose all patience working with people. Can be nice, good etc. but you
just don’t want to do it
A bit of a curse, off set tendency for isolation with going out more often
Stop using your childhood as an explanation for your behavior. Get help, fix what’s broken, and move forward.
You’re not an adult until you stop blaming your childhood for your current deficiencies, weaknesses, and problems.
Yes, shit happened to you. And yes, some of it set you back. But adults don’t use that as an excuse. They work through it without hurting other people who did nothing to them.
No one minds if you have a problem.
No one minds if you need help.
No one is perfect, and we all have a journey.
The problem is when you neglect your issues and constantly use them as justification for fucking up. Your friends and family will only be patient for so long.
I have spoken on this topic on several occasions. You cannot trust the loyalty of a poor man. That’s one strong lesson I have learnt in life.
I don’t want this post to be lengthy, but I will try to break this down as much as I can.
Firstly, when a guy who hasn’t touched money all his life touches money, what mostly comes to his mind immediately is not to commit to the girl who has been there; it is to explore life. With money now, he can do all the things he had wanted to do. He might even start needing space and now see the girlfriend as a “disturbance.”
Secondly, without money, many people don’t even know what their true taste is. The guy will suddenly discover things about the girl that, all of a sudden, don’t match his newfound standards. He starts going after girls who are truly his type, but he couldn’t move to them because he was broke.
When a man decides to marry the girl who has been with him during the struggling stage, it’s mostly out of pity and fear of the girl being vindictive.
This is why I, myself, have said it here repeatedly: I have never allowed any girl to build with me. I will build myself, make my money and pick my type of woman who will come in and live by my rules. I don’t want someone reminding me how she was there when I had nothing every single time.
I don’t blame women who are looking for an already established man to settle down with. If I were a woman, I would have done the same. Building with a man most of the time doesn’t end well. A struggling man can promise you marriage, heaven and earth just to keep you. Let’s wait until he touches money and see if he honors those words.
FATHERS, AND MEN WHO HOPE TO BECOME FATHERS SOMEDAY, READ THIS.
As a man, it is never enough to simply bring money into the house. I know the hustle takes its wear and tear on us. You become so focused on making money that you barely have time for your family. But providing financially is only one part of being a father. Make out time to be there for your children, especially while they are young.
When you bring money into the house, let your children know that it is coming from you. Don’t just keep giving your wife money and assume your children understand where everything comes from. Attend their PTA meetings. On some days, take them to school yourself and bring them back. Ask about their friends, their hobbies, what they are watching, what they are learning and what is happening in their lives. Create an emotional connection with them. Have you ever wondered why children are often so deeply attached to their mothers despite all the sacrifices their fathers make? This is one of the reasons. Our fathers made this mistake. They provided for us, but they were often absent from our lives. Some barely knew us, and we barely knew them. Some of them cannot even tell you what their children’s hobbies are or who their closest friends are.
They never gave us the opportunity to become that close to them because they were too focused on being feared. At the mention of Daddy is back, fear would grip everyone. You could not freely approach, talk, or simply spend time with them. And over time, the mother naturally became the parent the children felt more emotionally connected to because she was the one they saw, spoke to and experienced life with every day.
Be present for your children. Create memories with them. Let them know you beyond the money you provide. Explain to them why you do the things you do. If you cannot attend an important function, such as their graduation, make sure they understand why. Call them. Celebrate them. Show up whenever you can. Children are paying attention to everything. They notice who is there, who is absent, who listens, who cares and who makes time for them. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that because you are paying the bills, they automatically feel close to you. A child can appreciate everything you provided and still grow up feeling like they never really knew their father.
You want money, you will have to take risks.
You want power, you must be willing to be disliked.
You want followers, you must be ready to have haters.
You want momentum, you will have to move fast.
You want results, you will have to stop making excuses.
Everybody wants the outcome until they find out what it costs.
Once your woman knows you have a weak point, she will use it against you. I am a man who loves my kids and I am very present. But one thing my wife will never do is use them against me. She knows not in words but in action
I have this saying: “As long as your dick is functioning as a man, you can start all over again.”
Donald Trump in his book “Art of the Deal” said, “If you are not willing to walk away from a negotiating table, you will always lose.”
Don’t let a woman, in the name of kids, tie you down.
As a man, your family (wife and children) is important, but not as important as you.
The Bible says love your neighbor as yourself, not more than yourself.
As a man, you have to take care of yourself first so you can take care of others.
If you live in a sexless marriage, it will affect your mental health and your job, and the ripple effect will also affect your extended family, like your parents and siblings who depend on you.
The summary: take care of yourself first so you can take care of your children. It’s not selfishness; it’s wisdom.
Don’t say because you love your children, you will now allow disrespect from your woman.
Once sex is out in a marriage, there’s nothing else you are doing there. And yes Sex is that important
Selah!!
Smart people rarely talk. All you see is moves and actions. They’re just result-oriented. You can never know what is conceived in their mind. They observe situations and restrategize with precision, planning and timing.
This is largely true. It’s amazing the level to which nature / God discriminated against human females in particular. I wonder if it’s partly a curse from The Garden
Women get it all - at once. Around 16-18. Then menopause hits roughly 20 years later and they lose (almost entirely) their sexual function and fertility. The male arc is completely different. Staying fertile and horny and often more attractive even in late middle age
People genuinely do not realize how massive this disparity is between the sexes. Not talked about. Bc if it were discussed popularly men would quickly realize how absurd the idea of equality is. It would cause major disruption socially as well as in many marriages where typically the woman controls the man
There is no equality in nature. Both young women and men alike need to be educated on these natural progressions so they can make wiser life choices. I don’t think I began to be comfortable in my own skin nor did I get much random female attention (esp in public) until my late 20s and it seems to only have grown in my now early 30s
Staying healthy and fit is something integral to this equation. As well as having money. Usually takes a while to get money as a man as well. Age gaps make much more sense for both the man and woman in question
I pray my daughters fall in love with an already established man who can truly take care of them and has had much life experience. Him being 10 years older would be a relief vs her pairing up with someone her own age. An 18 yr old boy or even mid 20s is a horrible decision unless he is truly remarkable. Esp if the girl is above avg attractiveness. She has the world at her fingers and needs to learn how to be properly selective as well as getting access to these types of men at country clubs etc
Profile of Lucky People:
1) Always thinks things will work out
2) constantly doing new random things: food to wardrobe to travel locations
3) happy to be new and make tons of mistakes. Better than waiting is the logic
4) never has a clue what is happening on TV
5) result agnostic
I could discuss this at extreme length, but in the interest of efficiency, I will try (and partially fail) to be brief.
Why do high IQ peasants from the third world move to the first world and become rich, when in their home country they could never become rich?
Lack of opportunity, yes, smaller markets, sure, less foreign/capital investment, okay, but also: clannishness, nepotism and corruption. Third worlders generally don't care about how good you are at stuff, they care about getting a kick back and what your family name is and what the history/relationship is between your family and their family, and this effectively dictates and decides a shit ton of deals.
The west is the only place in the world where white people have allowed non-whites who are demonstrably talented in a capacity to earn prestige and wealth far in excess of what even their own people would allow them, because they were not born to the correct bloodline.
The west, up until around the time of say the boomers and gen X, was incredibly meritocratic. We had schools that looked for high IQs amongst the impoverished, made them do a battery of cognitive tests aged 11, and if they scored well, put them on an academic track to become what is, by today's standards, upper middle class (own home, vacations, nice cars, luxury items etc). Yes, if you were a genuinely brilliant 11 year old, the system would ensure your cognitive capital did not go to waste and set you up for a launch into your early 20's as a professional with a respectable salary.
Now as the west has been gutted by a mixture of elite corruption, outsourcing, H1Bs and other nonsense, the barrier to entry to become successful is higher. Traditionally, within the west if you had a say, 115-120 IQ, you could be upper middle class with hard work and study. This is not a super high IQ, but it is smart enough to get an undergraduate degree (not in physics no, but in many subjects, even medicine if you really grind your ass off)
To achieve what a 120 IQ would have say 4 decades ago in the west, engineering it from zero - you would probably need a minimum 140 IQ, maybe 135. This is almost none of the population. We are talking sub 1%. My point is simple: the barrier to entry is higher now so the adverse cost of bad positioning (born in a crap place to crap family with little money) is higher now. Positions are more entrenched than they used to be, and changing them requires more brilliance than it used to.
So what this means is, the west isn't as meritocratic and socially mobile as it used to be. The US is still the #1 country for going from $0 to millions of dollars (much better than the UK) but it's increasingly clear that the threshold for brilliance to "make it" has increased vastly.
So in the 1970's or 80's, a 120 IQ person with an undergrad degree was probably doing pretty well in life and was fairly set. Bought a home when it was cheaper etc etc. Nobody who is truly honest is under any delusions that older generations had it easier, and that their choices made it much harder for the young to succeed.
There is also the compounding of wealth. If you have a lot of capital, you can invest that capital to acquire more assets which yield revenue. If I give you say, 50 million dollars right now, with no special intelligence you can buy a bunch of homes, and then pay someone to manage them for you and you just collect revenues. You could be making mid 5 figures a month easily. Does this high income make you clever, capable and exceptional person? No. It makes you incredibly well leveraged and well positioned. Of course, people don't just get 50 million out of nowhere, it has to come from somewhere - so if you are born into wealth, it came from the capacities of people better than you, sharing what they created with you.
So a lot of it comes down to positioning, opportunity, timing and luck. When you were born, where you were born, and who you were born to. All things you cannot determine. Your genetics again (and therefore your cognitive ability), you don't get to determine. If you are born in a shit hole to a shit family in a shit time BUT you are gifted a 150 IQ, you will run your ass over to the west and then run mental loops around everyone, get rich and then wonder why everyone else finds it so hard when you managed to do it despite having worse starting conditions than any of them because they were born in the place you had to struggle to reach. Some variation of this is often the pretension of immigrant success stories. "If I could do it, why can't you?" and the simple answer is: because you're a genetic crackhead who is relentless due to your childhood trauma, and the average westerner is neither that clever nor that driven given their genetics and circumstances. You're a freak outlier, they're not - basically.
Further digression aside, let's say you are born into a family with a lot of money. A wealthy family. Your parents neglected you growing up, maybe you had a nanny, doesn't matter - your dad never really gave you much attention so you were not really mentored, he is always a way on business or working on something, you become shallow and somewhat narcissistic competing with your peers for social status because that is effectively your entire world (socialite life), so you spend crazy amounts of money wastefully acting out trying to get attention often hurting yourself in the process just so he will notice: absurd parties, doing drugs, gambling, prostitution etc - you have more resources so more temptations to do fuckery, and no drive to be brilliant because you have not been cultivated to do so - so you are bored, prone to consumption rather than creation, and see money more as a means to relieve your boredom and flex on the brokies (pad your ego).
Such a person is not a very impressive person, their father is for either making the money or at the very least not pissing it all away before you were born (so he is at the very least a good custodian/steward of capital, if not an exceptional creator of it), and let's say you are one of 5 children - there will be an intelligence variation amongst siblings - the less impressive rich person is generally not the smartest of their siblings.
So your father may be much cleverer than you, and you could be as much as say 15-20 IQ points beneath him ("the runt of the litter") whilst being raised in sheer luxury unlike him with less mentorship than him so you are softer than him and dumber than him, but have an allowance/fund from him. Congratulations, through nothing but position of birth and sheer luck (living off the excess of blood relatives much greater than yourself) you enjoy a standard of living you could never create for yourself courtesy of your ancestor who neglected you.
When I said I could talk about this for a long time, I really meant it. But I will stop myself here. It is a fascinating topic.
