Today we practiced being a great inventor! Students had to save “Bobby” by creating a parachute with paper. They had to drop it in different positions and sometimes had to change the shape to find the best way to ensure he landed slowly and safely. #willardpride

We finally got to have our Monsters University day! We got to write persuasive ads to sell a monster they created, make multiplication monsters, escape an I My Monster escape room, and dance like monsters. We had a great day, #willardPride@Willard_School
Writers met with partners to give complements and positive feedback about their small moment stories that they have been working on. It was great to hear students give specific complements and areas where their partner could grow their writing. #WillardPride@Willard_School

Students began to discover making arrays. They had to take a number of "chairs" and arrange them into equal rows. The students were challenged to find as many ways as possible and to determine how they knew they found all of the possibilities. #WillardPride@Willard_School
In social studies today we created landform dinosaurs! This is one of my favorite projects where students have to find different landforms in the image of a dinosaur. #willardpride@Willard_School

Today we were math detectives and looking for misconceptions about place value. We watched video clips of “students” solving a problem. They had to decide what did that person understand and what they didn’t to determine which one had the most reasonable answer. #willardpride
We are nearing the end of our state research unit. Students studied different topics and subtopics about different states. Today they were making their last edits to their books and slide show presentations. Can’t wait to hear these presentations next week! #WillardPride
It was cupcake day today! All of our work surrounded cupcakes. Our math job involved being owners of a cupcake bakery! Students had to use multiplication, division, subtraction, and time to solve different story problems. #WillardPride
Yesterday was the #RyOfLightChallenge ! It’s a day when we honor Ryan’s life by doing acts of kindness for others. We can be a “Ry” of light for others. We came up with 8 different ways we can be kind to friends, family, strangers, and people in need! #willardpride
