As an ongoing project while reading Of Mice and Men, my students created podcasts featuring people who demonstrate resiliency. Today they had the opportunity to sample classmates’ podcasts.
We finished reading Lord of the Flies yesterday. Today students worked with a partner to complete a question trail that had them analyze figurative language in the novel. I love this because it is student-centered and fun to hear them justify their opinions to each other!
In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, all of my students created thank you notes for a teacher who has positively impacted their lives. So many students had such fond memories of amazing teachers who made a difference to them. ❤️
We had a fun day competing in English 10! Students participated in another Lord of the Flies “tribal competition” today. One tribe member had to look at a picture of toothpicks and marshmallows and then explain to their tribe mates how to construct the picture.
@amoodytattoo Thanks, Moody! Students had to explain their mask’s symbolism in at least five sentences. MHS teachers will be judging the best masks in each “tribe” and tribes will earn points in our competition!
My sophomores recently made masks symbolizing the events and characters in the first four chapters of Lord of the Flies. It’s amazing to see their creativity and thoughtfulness!
Here's what academic integrity experts say college and high school students should know about cheating, including the consequences and potential long-term harm. https://t.co/h78QBzqZOQ
My classes recently started reading Lord of the Flies. Students worked in “tribes” to create a representation of the island based on chapter one. MHS teachers voted on the best islands based on the novel. Winners earn points and each week is a new challenge 🌴🌊
I “Rick Rolled” my sophomores today! 🤣They had to read the directions and then watch a video that took them to Rick Astley’s video “Never Gonna Give You Up.” The last word in each line of the directions are words to the song. The teenage eye rolls and groans were so worth it!
