Amber Greiner struck out 7 in the circle. Abbie Kegley went 2-4 w/ a double and an RBI. Hannah Tober went 2-4 with a double and scored a run.
With this win NK advances to the Region Championship and earns its fifth consecutive state berth.
Teachers don't leave because it's hard. They are some of the hardest working professionals I know. They leave because the amount of work no longer is sustainable compared to the pay, respect, support, and value that they deserve for the workload. Administrators too!
My parents or school never read stories with two dads to me.
I never saw pride flags as a kid.
I didn’t learn the word gay until I was in secondary school.
I didn’t see any gay role models on tv.
But I’m gay, and always have been.
Straight representation didn’t make me straight. Gay representation won’t make kids gay.
But not having a variety of representation will make some kids feel like they don’t belong, or are wrong.
If people won’t allow children to see the diversity of families, they’re failing them and putting their own prejudice above the wellbeing of their children.
Section 28 banned the ‘promotion’ of homosexuality in schools and is still having effects today, despite being repealed 20 years ago.
Ignorance or bigotry can no longer be used as an excuse and all children should see versions of themselves in our schools and in their lives.

@sstorm01 I think communication is a must. Having a day designated for conferences is nice, but covid showed us that virtual meetings can work and are often more convenient for all.
The culture of a school is created by everyone in the school. Walk in a school and see how the front office interacts with visitors or the staff /teachers interact in the hallway. Yes, the admin influences culture, but everyone is responsible for a positive school culture.
Three BIG reasons it's so hard to rethink grading:
1. Our experiences in school.
2. Universities don't teach it.
3. We don't know any other way.

A show like “Shark Tank,” but instead of investors there are 5 teachers from different grades, subjects and backgrounds. And people are pitching the “newest” ED tech and teaching strategies, and the teachers have to agree if it is worth the time and money.
