In science, we investigated what happens to energy when objects collide by completing a coin collision lab. Ask your child what happened when the pennies and nickels collided!
This week was Safety Week! Mr. Shugrue gave us some tips for fire prevention 🚒 and Officers Tom, Pete, and Rob presented Halloween 🎃 and Internet 💻 safety tips.
Lots going on this week in 4M!! We went from multiplying by 1-digit numbers using the partial products method of multiplication to multiplying by 2-digits. We connected it to the area model that we previously learned.
Day 1 of our multiplication and division unit today! 4M students were introduced to these methods. We started with an easy problem so that we are familiar with the methods before turning it up a notch! 😊
Teamwork Thursday in 4M! We completed 2 teamwork challenges today - putting together a puzzle w/o and w/ talking to highlight the importance of communication and the Great Paper Chain Challenge where groups worked to create the longest paper chain possible with 1 piece of paper!
Today 4th graders at CAS participated in Traffic Town, presented by @AvenuesinMotion. Students learned the meaning of all those traffic signs, as well as safety rules for the road. They were even able to take turns as drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians. 🚦🚗🚲🚶🏼♀️
So proud of the 4th and 5th grade student council members who presented during our assembly on Friday. 4M students love participating in reverse inclusion activities and getting to know new friends at CAS! ❤️
Yesterday we had a great visit with our buddies in Ms. Tremont’s first grade class! The 4th graders and 1st graders interviewed each other to learn more about their similarities and differences. 🥰
