Out of my classroom this week for a conference. Posted a simple “hey what’s up, miss you” message on google classroom. I was overwhelmed with the response from my kiddos. Not only do they miss me but want to know what I’m learning and if I’m having fun. Happy teacher!

One of my classes hit 2/3 benchmarks this week and earned their movie reward I promised them! For today, math can wait! Today is for ‘We Are Marshall’ next to our beautiful tree 🤩 I love being able to give well deserving students a nice reward! Happy Friday!

My home base stared their “compliments project” today and we LOVED it! Students wrote compliments to their classmates. Some of my favorites included “I look up to you” and “you always look out for others” ❤️❤️❤️ #TheWildcatWay #LoveNewportSchools

Such a good second day! Students did a Quiz, Quiz, Trade over procedures, a gallery walk over their future essential standards, and refreshed their math brains with a rally coach! Lots of cooperative learning! @KaganOnline

Today a student greeted with a handshake, a big smile, said “I’m excited for school to start and I LOVE math!”, and before I left she gave me the biggest hug.

Today my 8th graders planned their own trip to the Kentucky Derby using linear equations to help make a budget for their trip! You can take the teacher out of Louisville but you can’t take the Louisville spirit out of the teacher... especially during Derby week!! 🐎🌹

7th grade had a fun basketball themed day! Reviewing probability with a game of trashketball + March Madness themed boomcards. Our class average on our probability quiz was over 80% which meant some reward time... watching live action March madness games! 💯🗑🏀🅰️
