Another year is in the books. After 4 years of teaching 6th grade, I will be teaching 8th grade History/ELA/ELD next year! I will miss 6th grade but I am excited for something new.

@HansTullmann How sad. We’re reading Harry Potter in my 6th grade class and it’s one of the best things I’ve done as a teacher. I asked them about their enjoyment level with reading at the beginning of the school year and it was pretty low. It’s fair to say HP has shifted that dramatically.

One of my students brought me purple grapes because they remembered it’s one of my favorite things to eat! It’s the little things like this that get me through October.

I gave the award for student of the month for my class today and the other students (unprovoked) clapped for him. In a year of chaos, it’s important to cherish (and help create!) the positive moments.
