Third and fourth graders created a thunderstorm using world music percussion drums. We made rain with the pitter-patter of our fingertips, thunder with our palms on the drums, and lightning strikes with hits to the drumhead!
Movement is a natural response to music! Today, second grade listened to “Blowing in the Wind” - a scarf dance. We used our movement scarves to explore the words and sounds in the song!
My 5th grade group learned about pitched percussion instruments today. We played a C major ascending scale on the mallet instruments while my Boomwhacker kiddos played their notes & my bucket drummers kept a steady beat! They learned “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” today too. 🤩⭐️
I love a quality Spelling Bee, but I REALLY love when two buddies battle it out and show the best sportsmanship imaginable! MCE is proud of these two 5th graders. Way to go, Adrin and Caleb!
Working in pairs to play a classic matching game… But this time with literature genres and definitions! We are also learning how to use our ELA Notebooks to help us with class work. Great job, 5th grade!
