If you want to read any of my writing on wrestling (Mostly Pro Wrestling EVE & New Japan Pro Wrestling, along with a few other pieces) it's over at Scott Keith's Blog of Doom. Here's a link to my author page: https://t.co/Cw9qzt9gEa
@CFH_Chief Sting/Muta, Wargames, just so much good stuff.
Oh, and the Dynamic Dudes getting crushed by the Skyscrapers, and the Cornette vs Dangerously match.....
SHIT, this show is so good.
Old-school baby! This show rules. Luger's best match ever. For whatever reason, Steamboat somehow got more out of Lex than Flair did, which is kind of insane considering how great those two were together. Fabulous, fabulous show.
@Connor_P_Murphy@davemeltzerWON Suzuki is such an excellent worker. I think he leans into the personality hard now and it's more of a parody, but this match against Styles and the really famous one against Tanahashi are both standout performances of undeniable quality.
Rewatched A History of Violence today.
Goddamn, I will never figure out how Maria Bello didn't win every fucking acting award possible. That performance is some kind of miracle. Just magnificent from start to finish, she's the glue of the entire film.
@TrevorDame Only way I can think of is to do a completely safe cinematic match; Sting did a tag like that with Darby, I think? Against Starks and Page?
@davemeltzerWON The amount of replies to this tweet that list nothing but North American wrestlers and ignore the entire rest of the world is staggering in it's myopic US view. Just incredible arrogance to assume only wrestlers from one country matter.
@LSDeltour Sol linked it, but for people back in 95/96 using Usenet to write tournament reports and the like, it was the 1st true collection of internet Magic writing. Articles, reports, every day something new would go up.
It was THE place to read Magic writing and Frank was the sensei.
@NickZG Goddamnit, I live for your continued hate of Skyfall. Every bit of hostility dripping beneath your veneer for that film is like a shot of pure heroin.
@CFH_Chief Raj's downfall into whatever he is now is kind of sad. I really used to enjoy his work before he just became anti-Dave and anti-AEW for engagement.
I will continue to retweet Allan's brilliant threads until the earth falls into the sun. An intellectual's approach to pro wrestling rooted in love for the form that is unmatched by almost everyone who loves this crazy art.
Bret Hart is often reduced to one word: bitter. It is an easy way to dismiss him, because he has never made peace with the parts of wrestling he thinks cheapened the craft, rewarded politics, or left people broken for someone else’s payday. 🧵
