Our class is participating in the Great Gingerbread Exchange this year. We decorated some gingerbread men, wrote Christmas letters and sent them to 19 classes in Ontario. We love opening the letters that have been sent to us and learning about different schools in our province.
Our grade 2 friends are learning about the water cycle in science and were very excited to see the stages of the water cycle in action through our experiment. Ask us what happened in the plastic bag.
Our school yard is beautiful this time of year, so we took our learning outdoors. The grade ones sketched a picture of a tree which they will follow throughout the seasons and observe its changes.
In math, we are learning to represent numbers in different ways. We focused on place value and using base ten blocks this week. Ask your child which numbers are being represented in these pictures?
On Wednesday, our primary classes went on a field trip to Valleyview Little Animal Farm. We made so many connections to the science units we are learning in class, and had a lot of fun!
Thank you Mrs. Stanton for teaching our class about building bridges and belonging. Our class learned that we have the power to use our voices to make others feel welcomed and included. @ocsbRE@StGregoryOCSB
