Today we worked in groups to hunt for nonfiction text features. The best part was that we got to “tag” each text feature with a neon sticky note. Who doesn’t love text features AND office supplies? 🤣 Next, we’ll use text features to locate info!
“History is not just facts and events. History is also a pain in the heart, and we repeat history until we are able to make another’s pain in the heart our own.” -Julius Lester 💔❤️
Yesterday a student said, “Now I want to be a teacher because you’re such a good teacher,” and I’m still thinking about it this morning. I’m sharing here to remind teachers that YOU MATTER & to remind all humans that if someone has made a difference for you, tell them. ❤️
Last night my family changed its dinner plans to order in a celebratory meal in honor of my daughter Lily who fell short of her expectations on a major school project/presentation. 🧵
It's The Little Dude's naptime, so I have some precious time to tackle schoolwork... but right as I sat down, I got a text message that the stack of Pam Jenoff books I reserved at the library is ready. What is The Universe trying to tell me here? #readingforfun#ilovebooks
Don’t mistake a lapse in judgment for a lack of character.
We all have moments when we fail to live up to our principles. Humility is how quickly you recognize it, and integrity is how hard you work to rectify it.
Character is striving to become the person you claim to be.
Grit. 💪🏻 Proud of these kids and their perseverance, and I’m happy to be sleep deprived if it means I got to witness this. #rockchalk 💙❤️🏀 https://t.co/I5bswNJJyO
Let the research begin! Using #PebbleGo, @epic4kids, and other sources, Ss are compiling information on an aquatic animal’s body features, habitat, food sources, and life cycle. @Seesaw is the perfect app to help us organize all our learning. Stay tuned for how we share!
We’re researching aquatic animals as a class, but Ss also use their independent time to research a topic of their choice & create nonfiction writing using the facts. We love #PebbleGo for the info & @Seesaw for organizing! Thanks to @jpsmith1020 for inspiring these curious kids.
