@Bennet87AO3 @piper4missouri There really isn’t maternity leave. You use your sick days, go on FMLA & if you have the highest amount of short term disability pay you get 66% & that only covers 6 weeks for vaginal and 8 weeks for cesarean. You are entitled to the full 12 weeks for FMLA but it’s unpaid.

@unDawn_ted @GovernorHobbs June 19 1865 is when the people of Texas were informed that, in accordance with a proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves were free. It was two years after the law took effect. It’s been celebrated since 6/19/1866 and now it’s a federal holiday.

@vlntnegrl It’s nothing more than public shaming. In my early years of teaching clip charts were required in my school per our “disciplinary plan”. They are not motivating & kids are quick to label “good” & “bad” kids. I started using love & logic principles & saw many positive changes.

@JoshKunnath We use a variety of formal and informal methods including anecdotal notes (listening and watching for application of skills), project based w/rubrics, progress monitoring and benchmark tests.

@mrkotter AZ Early Learning Standards has an entire section on Social Emotional Learning where it clearly states the standards and objectives that public preschool adhere to, myself included, because they are deemed necessary! Kids need SEL especially in the younger years as a foundation!
