I have seen this picture of Mzee Kebati. I have equally seen the pictures of the daughter doing rounds on social media. I don’t lay claim to having interviewed anyone in particular regarding the case. Despite my limited facts on this matter, I have the following advice to my fellow “old” men;
1. Ensure you have kept something for yourself in old age. Could be shares, a plot, a house, savings, etc, anything you can liquidate to keep you going even if it shall be for a short time.
2. Don’t rely on your children and spouse as an investment.
3. If you are past 35 years of age, don’t marry a second wife. ( This is for non Christians.) Christians, you know what you believe in.
4. If you choose to be polygamous, ensure you are a general who commands fear and respect in equal measure in your family.
5. Have a valid health cover, even if it is SHA. It may afford you a few months of dialysis cleansing.
6. Have a child or children who are your allies come rain or sunshine.
I am not an expert on this subject.
