We had 6 stations that required teams to use their catapults in a variety of ways (distance, height, accuracy, Etc). Students LOVE our school STEM days.

Students built mountains and then showed how rain and snow erodes mountains and creates fresh water rivers and lakes. Thanks @MysterySci for the lesson (converted for 5th grade).

This is what a test looks like at a STEM school. If the marshmallow was squishy and chocolate melted the students passed their solar oven build test. We had a 100% pass on this test.

Students given 25 pipe cleaners, paper clips, & straws during CVES STEM day. Their objective is to build the tallest tower that could support a golf ball at the top. Engineering at its finest.

What a great way to start our Halloween party. Our room moms brought a professional storyteller to tell some Halloween stories on this spooky day. The students were listening so intently I'm not even sure if they blinked they were so focused on her.
