Very positive attendance numbers @EpsomRacecourse today.
The 19,704 Oaks crowd was 33 per cent up on last year.
There was a 45 per cent increase in 18 to 24 year olds and a 17 per cent increase in those travelling from within five miles of the racecourse.

Some theories as for why from trying to make sense of it all:
- Horses run a lot, even when they are not very fit
- Tracks are both many and very different to each other (undulations, track profiles, direction, etc)
- Track conditions vary a lot
- A lot of hcp racing
- Track Bias
