Take-Two CEO, Strauss Zelnick encourages everyone to get a Netflix subscription ahead of the GTA 6 Extended Look on August 27th:

“If you’re not a Netflix subscriber, you definitely should be one. And as for the trailer itself, it’s coming soon enough that I’ll let you arrive at your own conclusion. I’m sure you’re going to watch it because everyone is.”

He also calls it an extended “trailer” instead of “look,” which is interesting and says Rockstar believes that a Netflix release would be a great way to show it off.

Netflix has over 325 million subscribers, so there is a huge audience made up of people who may not even know GTA 6 is coming out and they will be exposed to the game through the platform.

Insane to me that after 8 years of RDR2, we're now just shy of three weeks away from seeing the first gameplay from GTAVI. We've gone through COVID, the 2022 leaks, Trailer 1 in 2023, 2024 with nothing (horrible year), 2025 with Trailer 2 and a delay, and now 2026 with the actual game coming for real this time.

Rockstar are masters in this business, they're always finding ways to go beyond what they've already done as they proved with RDR2. The technical leap from GTAV to RDR2 was gigantic and still continues to look amazing today. I have no doubt whatever they are about to show in three weeks time will blow us away and probably exceed our expectations.

While this pre-release has been quite... iffy and very slow paced, hopefully August 27th gives us a major, major look at the game and answers many of our burning questions. (I'm personally excited to see what the game UI looks like and how driving and shooting looks).

It's 99.5% certain now that the game is on track for November 19th, so this is it now guys.

My GTA 6 extended look wishlist:

- 30 minutes long or more
- The iconic narrator, who was featured in GTAV & RDR2’s gameplay videos returns
- Gameplay showcasing new mechanics of Jason & Lucia robbing the store we saw in Trailer 1, which is highly possible as they’re both wearing similar bandanas and with the same car from the trailer
- Breakdown of core mechanics like character switching, driving, shooting, melee combat and the relationship between Jason & Lucia
- Deep dive into the world design, environments, technology, and map scale
- Cinematic cutscenes in addition to the gameplay
- More details about Jason, Lucia, and side characters
- Side activities details
- Behind the scenes at Rockstar North, interviews with devs, and even possibly Sam Houser addressing the game and giving a little talk
- Low chance but I’d like to see Jason and Lucia’s actors officially present themselves

Jason Schreier explains why the anti-consumer concerns about the GTA 6 extended look being a timed exclusive on Netflix are overblown:

“6 hours is not a lot of time in the grand scheme of things. It doesn’t really hurt anybody to have a gameplay footage available on Netflix 6 hours in advance. I mean this is all marketing, it’s not like we’re talking about a video game being made only available to some subset of players. I think that anyone who complains that it’s like consumer unfriendly, hostile or bad practice to have a piece of marketing footage available on Netflix for 6 hours before it’s on YouTube, I think pick your battles man if you’re complaining about that.”

The GTA 6 extended look could show the beginning of Jason & Lucia’s crime life when they were younger.

The new artwork is vastly different from the previous ones, as Trailer 1’s artwork shows Lucia having an ankle monitor (after she got arrested) and Trailer 2 shows both characters in a police chase while they have injuries.
