One of my favorite times of the day is recess! I love having this time to spend with my students and have even learned a new favorite game - Gaga ball!
First few weeks of student teaching have been wonderful! We’ve debated, learned, and had lots of dance parties. Excited for the experiences that the next few months hold!
I will miss these shining faces and my amazing Cooperating Teacher, @ewilkclassroom ! A few tears were shed as I had to say goodbye. I will cherish these memories with this class! #4thgrade#BUCOEImpact
For my last day of student teaching we took a virtual field trip to my neck of the woods, Washington, DC! It was such a joy to show these 4th graders the National Mall. I will miss them more than they know ♥️ @ewilkclassroom#4thgrade#BUCOEimpact
One of the best parts of hybrid teaching is being able to confer with individual students. Being physically “plugged in” with the students allows for the time to be meaningful and engaging! #4thgrade#studentteaching
We are learning more about the Ocean in our class! Last week we explored a text all about coral reefs in reading. Using the descriptions in the text and their creativity, students drew their own coral reefs. Check some of the drawings out! #4thgrade@ewilkclassroom
Inspiring words from @RubyBridges tonight with our @ButlerCOE future teachers. “If racism is going to be solved, it will be through our children” -Thank you @TCMIndy for the opportunity!
The fourth graders got to virtually meet THE Butler Blue! It was so fun to show some of my Butler pride to these awesome students. They were beyond excited!
Doc camera is set up and running as we start our reading non-fiction unit! I’m excited to be able to use this piece of technology to enhance my lessons! #4thgrade#hybridlearning
Took students on our first virtual field trip around Butler’s campus! We noticed the leaves and talked about why leaves change colors in the fall! 🍂 @ewilkclassroom#4thgrade
...and finally, my favorite part of the class! The student’s “fierce wonderings” are written for all to see! A wonderful celebration of the thoughts and wonderings of these learners.
My name is officially up outside the classroom and my computer space where I will be projected is set up as well! Learning how to use technology in the hybrid space is something I hope to carry on in my future classroom.
Seeing these -and many more- shining faces is the highlight of each of my mornings! I have been loving leading morning meetings and strengthening my relationships with these awesome students. #4thgrade@ewilkclassroom
