Tabz: ...What I remember is that at the establishment we entered, I heard a sliding gate push to the side. They led me to a room, and I never saw the other gentleman [I was with] again. Someone held my arm, guiding my steps to see if there was a big or small step ahead. They led me to a dingy room that smelled a bit like urine—similar to the custom smell of a police cell.
After that, they removed my blindfold. It was a normal room with a bathroom setup, but there was no toilet. The wall tiles went above human height. They gave me a small detergent bucket, placed it in a corner, and didn't tell me what it was for. I had to figure out that it was for easing myself, which I eventually used. They locked the door, told me, "Welcome to your new apartment," and left.
About 10 to 15 minutes later, two different people came in. Their faces were not covered. They said, "Tabz, you're here. We have a gift for you." It was a Museveni campaign t-shirt that said "Protecting the Gains." They were quite calm, so I joked with them, saying, "Thank you for the gift, but I can stay in my own clothes. I don't mind." They insisted, "No, Tabz, we want to give you this t-shirt, take a picture of you, and go tell Mzee to forgive you." I asked them, "Forgive me for what? I haven't done anything against him." They replied, "Okay, but maybe when you need it, we won't be here to give it to you," and they left.
Sudhir: So you never put on the t-shirt?
Tabz: I never put it on. But I think I should have, because the next two guys who came in had their faces covered, and they stripped me naked.
Sudhir: They stripped you naked?
Tabz: Yes, they recreated how I was born. They removed my shirt, t-shirt, undershirt—everything I had on my body. Then, they took pictures of me. Sudhir, I have a family. I have a wife, parents-in-law, and friends. But these guys showed me the pictures on their phone, laughed, and said, "Look, Tabz, the moment you post anything anti-government again, we are going to publish these pictures." Then they left with my clothes. For a moment, I felt completely broken. I thought to myself, "Maybe they aren't even going to release me. They might just post the pictures while I am still in detention."
They left me there naked. It was dark. There was a light bulb in the room, but no switch inside. They controlled the light from the outside, turning it on only at their convenience, usually when they came to interrogate me. I stayed there for maybe four or five hours, losing track of whether it was day or night.
Because the room was tiled, it was freezing cold. You have to sit in one place to try and stay warm, but there was a CCTV camera in there watching. Eventually, your body gets tired, and you have to stand up and walk around, still naked.
At one point, I heard the guard outside the door. He opened it, and a man and a woman in military uniforms walked in. Their faces weren't covered, and the woman was holding a hair-cutting machine. The guard asked them what they were doing, and they said, "We are here to take his hair off." The guard replied, "I haven't received those instructions yet, so you will not get access to my inmate."
Sudhir: So they only get instructions from someone else?
Tabz: Yes, that's what he told them. When the door had opened, I tried to hide because I was naked, but the woman still saw me. They left and never came back. Later, they brought me a cup of porridge. The guard opened the door, handed me the porridge, and took out the bucket I had peed in. He then locked himself inside the room with me and said, "Tabz, I know you. Don't worry, no one is going to cut your hair or beat you." He told me he was a fan and that he even followed me on x. I felt a bit relieved.
Why didn’t they shave off your dreadlocks @NinyeTabz?
That question is sickening. It’s mocking. It reflects the mindset of people who look at someone who has survived torture and ask why they don’t look “broken enough” to prove what happened.
It’s the same mentality that had people constructing false narratives with a “tape measure” around Ziggy Wine, even after he had reportedly been held in an unknown facility, subjected to horrific torture, and later died in deeply disturbing circumstances. Some people only seem willing to acknowledge torture after death—as though surviving it somehow erases the pain.
We must stop sensationalising the suffering of victims. Why should those who have already endured unimaginable abuse be mocked by people who know exactly what has been inflicted on them? At this point, it makes you wonder who is working for whom and why there is such determination to twist the truth after people have gone through horrifying experiences at the hands of ruthless security agencies.
This is not new. Baby Cool mocked President Kyagulanyi over what happened to him in Arua. The same Baby Cool later claimed that I had simply “fallen from a car” after I was shot at during the 2021 election while in Kayunga.
That wasn’t just misleading, it was deeply painful.
Unless you’ve experienced what it’s like to be in the hands of heartless security agencies, you cannot understand the emotional scars such mockery leaves behind. Surviving torture or violence is painful enough. Having your suffering ridiculed or dismissed only adds another layer of trauma.
We owe victims empathy, truth, and dignity not mockery guys. Let's learn how to be humans once again guys it costs us nothing.

It’s sad how the young people have lost interest in politics, yet complain it’s dirty with no one willing to clean it.
In the years to come, #Uganda might get a Trump type of a leader to lead it.
Ekijja si muntu.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police, James Ocaya
is at the Uganda Police Forensic Laboratory to witness the release of DNA test results to determine the biological children of the late musician Job Paul Kafeero.

Alot doesn’t make sense.
I respect science but this country is capable of doing anything that serves the interests of the minority.
How transparent was that DNA process? How are these two not Kafeero’s children?
Mutubaleemu ku magezi.
They treat us as subhuman.
They kill our people for fun
They rape our sisters and brothers.
They torture us on camera.
They abduct us without remorse.
They tear families apart.
They drive people into exile.
They push others to commit suicide.
They rig elections with impunity.
They mock us and post humiliating images of our comrades in captivity.
Then they ask us “What will you do about it?”
But when we remind them, that they too are mortal, and that pain has a way of returning to its source, they suddenly remember the language of ‘morality’.
Go and preach that fake morality to Yasin Kawuma’s mother.
Preach it to the children of Johnbosco Kibalama., Eddy Mutwe or Waiswa Mufumbiro.
Preach it to the family of John Ddamulira and to the countless other victims of the Museveni family.
Don’t try to weaponize ‘morality’ to shield injustice and brutality.
It won’t work with this generation!
Yes, we believe in morality, but silence in the face of injustice is not morality. It is complicity, it is hypocrisy!
The dramatic saga of the late prince of Kadongo Kamu, Prince Job Paul Kafeero, has finally reached a DNA proven conclusion.
Out of 25 children claiming to be fathered by the legendary singer who passed away in 2007, police forensic tests have now revealed that only 4 are actually his biological children.
Gentemen, DNA testing isn't about a lack of trust, it's about establishing absolute truth.
Normalize DNA testing for peace of mind.
This video Lumbuye talked about Gen Muhoozi shaming him
It has gone beyond grievance 🙌🙌🙌
From a point of view, lumbuye alimbyemu about Muhoozi and the calves
Rich kids never do that kind of shit
I disagree with Lumbuye on this
Any Lumbuye should be in basement by now 😂😂😂
These dreadlocks were blessed by my late father TABANDAMA and he protects them!
I am African and I will live my life as a true African Lion regardless of the noise from other petty inhabitants of the jungle!
