Growing a Lima bean sprout! We put a wet cotton ball in a baggy, placed the bean on top, blew air into the bag, sealed it, now we wait! Let’s see if Ms. Ashlynn has a green thumb or not? @WKUmartin

Yes we dig hands-on activities! These are real fresh chicken feet! I can’t wait to experiment with my fourth graders for my lesson about tendons, muscles, bones, and joints. @WKUCEBS @WKUmartin

The fourth grade students have been learning about camouflaging to keep from being eaten by predators. They colored butterflies and hid them in the room for Ms. predator Ashlynn to find. I had such a hard time finding these! So proud of them! @WKUCEBS @JHCcardinals @WKUmartin

We learned how to compare and contrast a millipede and a centipede this week. We even had a real millipede to look at! The students love it!!! @WKUCEBS @WKUmartin

About two weeks ago we planted grass seeds to see if they would grow. Look at them today! I love when students say, “Ms. Ashlynn look how many hairs my grass head has on it!” @WKUmartin @WKUCEBS @JHCcardinals

We completed our story map over Stelluna which is a fictional book we read this week. The first graders are learning the difference between nonfiction and fiction books.
