@SchmittNYC Correction: he is an entertainer. He was working so hard to whip up some tears in that clip.
He plays the “Cronkite-esque” character well…but you can see the anger pretty transparently.
@JoshuaLisec One would think that this move would wake up the Illinois politicians, but the rot is too complete. They will keep getting re-elected, and Indiana will laugh all the way to the bank!
@Timcast My family is from Hammond. It will be phenomenal for the city!
Bottom line is that Illinois politicians caused this, but will still get re-elected.
I wanted to share my “framework for social media sanity”
When reading any media post, you can put them in 3 categories.
“Take it Literally” - reserve this for the law, or messages that communicate policy/process changes. These posts probably had several editors and are more formal
“Take it seriously” - the general direction of the post is going in a certain direction from an authority source, but uses hyperbole or exaggeration to get the point across. Example would be Trump’s “destroy civilization” post.
“Entertainment” - every other post on the internet, 99% of the stuff out there is intended to inflame emotions and increase engagement with social media platforms. Internet CEOS saw Star Wars as inspiration “give in to your ANGER”

@LaReinaCreole I agree…does Disney even have people on staff that could write a positive optimistic show without indulging in culture war issues?
Do they have the people on staff that love the country?
@EricSpracklen It’s so useless these days. Mostly AI slop, and I don’t see posts from my own parents until days later.
Is a reverse chronological feed really that hard???
