Reminder- If IREAD3 is administered to 4th graders in the fall, student “baseline” data to determine “COVID loss” will be available in December.
This lag along w/ $, COVID reentry transition demands, and other already used/available assessments is my reasoning for “no” vote.
IDOE proposed no more or limited IREAD3. This saves $300K/yr, decreases testing & schs already administer other tests providing student data.
Yet...
State Bd of Ed will vote on adding IREAD3 to 4th grade (fall) as an available test & continue 3rd grade (spr). 🤦🏼♀️
Asking educators to do ‘one more thing’ without removing anything from their plate is not helping the profession, purpose or kids.

Supts, sch bds, assns, & health depts are working w/ Ts, staff, & parents on local reentry.
With start of July/Aug & COVID trend data, more conversations & plan adjustments are expected.
Schs cannot & should not be bullied from DC into ignoring safety concerns. Not helpful.
@GovHolcomb, you told my former colleague & other educators at Clark Co Fair tonight you want to hear their input & give them a place at the table, yet 2 of your 3 teacher pay listening sessions are on school days. Clearly, the hope is they won't attend. #RedForEd@ISTAmembers
