Exposing a racist’s comment and looking to hold them accountable is not ruining someone’s life.

It’s definitely not more tragic than the experiences of residential schooling, where children were forcefully removed from their homes and subject to abuse. We can’t let this go.

Residential schools were created specifically to remove Indigenous children from their families and communities with the deliberate outcome of destroying their cultural identity.

He labelled all Indigenous people ‘misguided children’, he’s not trying to save neglected youth.

He didn’t say boarding schools, he said residential schools, and those were created for a specific purpose. There’s no mistaking what he meant.

There are non-Indigenous people in NS, petitioning for the revival of Residential Schooling in response to our exercising of Treaty Rights.

They’re advocating for ethnic cleansing, because our people are accessing resources we have a right to.

Even if the schools operated without any abuse, they existed to remove children from their families and cultures so that they would lose all cultural identity - the U.N. defines that as cultural genocide.

There’s no improving something that is at its core, ethnic cleansing.
