Some odd characters appeared in our garden @WhinhillPS today. They look more friendly than scary and they certainly seemed to cause some hilarity. Today was the last of our gardening club and what a lovely group they've been.
Whinhill gardeners, @WhinhillPS , you did an amazing job today getting our raised beds ready. Thank you so much for your hard work. Looking forward to hearing your ideas for them now the tough bit is done.
Making shoebox gardens in @WhinhillPS gardening club. They're such a lovely group to work with. Just one more session this year - where did the time go?
This lovely, lively bunch @WhinhillPS have been very busy the first weeks of gardening club - we've sown herb seeds, collected tree seeds and planted them, sown Swiss chard in a raised bed and tried different ways of getting free plants by taking cuttings etc. 🌱🪴🍁👍
@WhinhillPS@WemyssBaySchool@MissMorris85 Somehow I missed the memo and had no idea were moving on, Miss Morris. Wishing you all the very best in your new job. I know you'll be ver much missed at Whinhill. 🥰
@WhinhillPS Many, many thanks to everyone at Whinhill for giving me such a lovely send-off. So many carefully chosen gifts and a perfect tea-party to celebrate. I'm quite overwhelmed at the generosity of staff and parents who sent me home with a car full of presents. Thank you, everyone. 🥰
Really pleased with how our saplings are growing @WoodlandTrust@WhinhillPS but not just that, the benefit of no-mow in their patch is obvious with wild flowers and a variety of beautiful grasses. @MrsSharpGP1_3 @WhinhillEco
Yearly update on silver birch planted in 2022 @WhinhillPS: growing well (in spite of a howling gale #summer2024). The twins, whose big bro planted our tree, had a great year in GP1 too. @MrsSharpGP1_3 Big bro didn't shrink btw, that's our head gardener now 😄
The @KSBScotland Pocket Garden showcase is now open for viewing. Our Whinhill PS gaelic class 1-3 @WhinhillPS @MrsSharpGP1_3 designed a garden & won the chance to make it for the showcase. They did all the work themselves & had loads of fun too. We are so proud of them.
Seeds sown at @WhinhillPS for #GrowwithIt @RHSSchools are definitely not needing to use any tap water, and surprisingly seem to be managing without much heat either 😀
One of our GP1 gardeners @MrsSharpGP1_3 @WhinhillPS sowed coleus seeds some weeks ago. Look at them now - they're not the fastest growing but they're looking great. We love our greenhouse/corridor and so do the plants @KSBScotland @RHSSchools #RHSGrowWithit
GP3 Sowing spinach seeds today @MrsSharpGP1_3 @WhinhillPS#RHSGrowWithit Have all classes planted seeds now? Take a peek at GP4-7 rudbeckias - they're showing already. Wouldn't want any classes to feel left behind 😄⚘️🌱🪴
