@MCLibrary_SD735@CommonSense Thank you for always pushing yourself and our students toward positive action, even amidst challenges and deep pain in the world. ❤️
We are so honored to host our Latinx Club’s beautiful ofrenda in the library! Students put it up yesterday after school. Anyone is welcome to add a memorial card—stop to smell the marigolds and pick one up! Thanks for sharing the magic, Ms. Alvarado ❤️ @Skokie735
Is this not the most adorable thing on your feed today? It makes me so happy every time I walk by it. 😊 Leave it to Ms. Gammeri and Ms. DeStefano to spread good vibes! 😎 @MCLibrary_SD735@Skokie735
I posted a question in our library windows yesterday and Ms. DeStefano’s class actually responded today! Now we’re “discussing” books & authors across the parking lot. Sure, students can just come to the library any time (and they do) but this is so fun! 🥰 @Skokie735#seekjoy
Great welcome back from break with some treats celebrating the Assyrian New Year. It isn't always easy to get back into a routine, but it's been wonderful seeing students and staff again. #bettertogether735#teacherlife#bestjobever#AssyrianNewYear
Good Morning @Skokie735! The new Little Free Pantry created by McCracken’s Social Justice Club is now hitched to our Little Free Library! If you’ve got any shelf-stable food to share, feel free to add. And if you’re hungry, please help yourself. #bettertogetherSD735
When it’s “Dress as a Book Character Day”, you know this Asian American educator had to represent for my Asian American authors! #representationmatters@Skokie735 We love you, @namazzn!
I wrote my very first Black History book! It’s called The Humanity Archive: Recovering the Soul of Black History from a Whitewashed American Myth,” and releases February 28th. I’d be very grateful for your pre-order and retweet to make it a success.
Visiting @MeyerLib_SD735 to read to kindergarten and preschool classes is the perfect way to celebrate World Read Aloud Day! And it’s just the beginning of #LiteracyMonthSD735; we’ve got a book fair, author visit and so much more planned this month! Stay tuned. 💜📚🐝 @Skokie735
Ms. Di Zillo transformed her class into Starbooks Cafe to wrap up a poetry unit. Students laughed as she jokingly wrote incorrect names on cups. It was a special to see students reciting poems and feeling like they are a part of a community. @sd735
7th graders are doing a researched debate about recent cases of book banning. Not only is it a healthy conversation about censorship but there’s also been an increase in circulation of the books being discussed, and the best part? The students are highly engaged! @Skokie735
@jimknight99 Working with an instructional coach isn't an indicator that you're incapable of doing it yourself. It's quite the opposite -- working with a coach indicates that you desire to engage in collaborative discussions to strengthen your practice for the sake of the students! 💛
It’s official—With a unanimous vote, Niles Township High School District 219 votes to become the first public high school district in the United States to offer Assyrian as an accredited World Language option.
Yesterday’s Lunch & Learn session with our instructional coaches @amonakSD735 and @MsCatanus_SD735 was such a fun way to practice a new strategy and build community. Can’t wait to try Hexagonal Thinking with the students! #chooseimpactsd735 @Skokie735
