Autistic AAC user with some mouthspeech.
Disability rights; theory; justice. Dehumanisation.

I've looked for a publisher for long enough. This essay is needed. It's on Wordpress now. Let me know if you need a copy in any additional formats.

#RobertRoberson was convicted based on debunked science and the fact he was Autistic. Now he's due to be executed. There's a #SaveRoberson petition - and Texans can call their rep: https://t.co/5jDhnzcQYc
My health/capacity has been deteriorating. For two years I've fought for an #NDIS plan review that isn't the same, was-never-even-accurate repackaged words (apparently my mother is a support? I haven't had one since before joining the Scheme).
What now?
PWDA has called the passage of the NDIS Amendment Bill “devastating,” citing deep concerns about its impact on NDIS participants and the disability community.

Lifetime bans are not enough. We need to end segregation. We need to separate provision of housing and supports.
"That is the thing with true ugliness. It does not come in the shape of a wheelchair, a cleft lip, white cane or scars. It sits in prejudice, digging and clawing its way into our culture"
“Some had their disability aids removed by photographers. Other children have been altered with editing software or banned from their class photos entirely.”
I expose how the “erased disabled kids” scandal was not a one-off - and what it says about us. https://t.co/UjRBWZ1iYR
Well that's terrifying. Just finished the DSS webinar on the new #NDIS legislation. It's even worse than we thought. The needs assessment to determine funding budgets will NOT be a reviewable decision. Just like with Independent Assessments. @lukehgomes @SquigglyRick @abcnews
@NDIS @billshortenmp One of my NDIS goals is to be a taxpayer, someday. I love taxes.
I do want them used well.
I want to use my NDIS funding in a way that respects taxpayers, respects my fellow citizens and the Disabled community. Being forced to pay more for a segregated product isn't doing that.
The solution to NDIS expenses isn't to lock participants into only purchasing the most expensive supports available. If you want me to only have supports made exclusively for Disabled people, be prepared to be spending a lot more I never wanted you to.
People charge us more.
@NDIS @billshortenmp I'm not unhappy about all of the proposed changes.
But even if I am ignoring ethics and my personal needs and the needs of my community, this one does not make sense. It doesn't make economic sense.
