To finish up our unit on animals, a parent brought in her bearded dragon for us to see! Sahara has camouflaging skin, a third eye on the top of her head to see predators, and changes colors to absorb heat. Every kid got to pet her and I held her! @MountainViewJCS @jcityTNschools

We went fishing!!! Students had to make a fishing rod and fish for snacks while preserving biodiversity in their lakes. Some lakes faired better than others. The poor pretzel fish were an easy target. #JCSTechLeads @ProfChrisBowen

After our trip to @northeaststate this spring, I’ve been encouraging parents and students to keep community college in mind as an option! It’s a ways away, but it’s a valid and important opportunity for all TN grads.

Yesterday we tried Building Thinking Classrooms for the first time! Students were given a challenging multiplication problem and asked to write a word problem and use the distributive property to solve it. Whoever was holding the marker was not aloud to speak!
