@LazersEli @GravityPike @remypaulint @JayFay75 @Silversalty@Ian_Fraser That's what I assumed he was attempting. Then, when he doesn't buy Twitter (if this was a stunt), he's more than made up the $1b he has to pay back.
@LindaMorone @pennydaily@ericowensdc@proreviewer1@Ian_Fraser Her being from North America does not mean she is "American" in the sense required to run for President of the US. Since no other country uses the word America in their name, or refers to its citizens as "Americans", it's silly to argue who it's referring to.
@BrandonBIsMe@detemple@alwaysiron @goose4life2020 @SamSanderson123 @Ian_Fraser@elonmusk Now, the gov doing those things is forbidden by the first amendment (excluding certain things like inciting violence). Private companies do not have to answer to that law as they are not publicly funded. It's why Parler will remove the left immediately but complain about Twitter
@BrandonBIsMe@detemple@alwaysiron @goose4life2020 @SamSanderson123 @Ian_Fraser@elonmusk So freedom of speech isn't at play here, & never was. Freedom of speech can only be suppressed or forced by the gov or gov funded places like schools and many colleges. Private companies can choose to not allow speech for any reason they like, just like stores can refuse service.
@edgeworksZABABA My point is don't sell yourself to a company unless they're paying you plenty. Don't feel like you have to "give more" when they aren't paying more. If they tell you that working overtime and giving extra is part of your work, make sure they're paying for it.
@donmcspankies @JeffFis22389823 @Gritty20202 Alcoholism is a lifelong issue, but it can be overcome with significant time and work. You cannot overcome autism.
You can go 30 years without taking another drink. You can't go 30 years without being autistic if you have autism. It is unfair.
@JenKittyBot@Gritty20202 I worked at, and trained new corporate employees and management for, a company that would hire anyone with a degree immediately for an assistant manager position at least. I trained them and couldn't get promoted because I didn't have a degree. Intelligence wasn't a requirement.
@BearSavo@Gritty20202 @misreadbible Exactly! Being able to smile at the next person after having the last one threaten to kill me over $15 took a lot of effort.
@MikeofScar@Gritty20202 I can tell you've never had your life threatened over $15 and then had to smile as though nothing happened for the next people. Weddings, especially, are a nightmare industry at times and it takes extreme effort to not show frustration or fear when insulted and/or threatened.
@DrRJKavanagh@endlessyarning@WrittenByHanna What that means is that other than the five major broadcast channels (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, PBS), other channels are not forced to live up to that. HBO is a great example, but there are plenty of others as well. That's why what you see on those channels is often tamer than cable.
@DrRJKavanagh@endlessyarning@WrittenByHanna So free speech only applies to the government either stopping or forcing speech. It does not apply to private companies. There's an argument for FCC rules violating that, but plenty of channels just pay the fine. They can also skirt that by not being broadcast channels(1/2)
@DebDake@w_thisis@davidmackau She's been very open and public about her condition. This isn't the first time he's made nasty comments about her. Violence isn't the answer. I can sympathize with being furious with someone insulting my spouse, especially for a health condition, but emotions were too high.
@J_Motoki It looked like it was coming around for round two. You can see him pulling the dog back at the very end. I wouldn't want one of those angry with my dog either.
