A12 I will explore the resources to find connections to topics and themes I teach. I would also like to bring people into my classroom virtually so I will make a list of those options. Local museums is a good place to start. #EDTECHGUYS
@vw_innovation Thanks! @CassieWCSD used street view app on iphone to create 360 photos, then used YouVisit to create a virtual tour embedded w/ S writing. YouVisit has changed since then, but now has virtual college tours https://t.co/bDEAq2otFw #EDTECHGUYS
A11 Ss can go on virtual field trips for the settings in novels by combining Google Earth and My Maps. They can visit each location mentioned in the story and pin it with descriptions, images, websites, videos etc. on a Map they create. #EDTECHGUYS
A10 To begin A. Frank unit Ss explored https://t.co/TB7B4MoO1P & generated questions that arose. Visiting a place before reading about it increases engagement. I consult this list of NYC museums frequently for inspiration https://t.co/PHaDGaSEsN #EDTECHGUYS
A9 Virtual field trips allow Ss to bridge the gap, geographically speaking, between their community & the world. Ts can collaborate with experts and enhance lessons. Both learn there's a whole lot left to learn. #EDTECHGUYS
A8 virtual field trips can be self led through google maps etc-Ss explore and discover. Or experts on location can be brought into a Meet to share knowledge and interact w/ Q&A #EDTECHGUYS
A7 to Q7 Ss have become closer through virtual field trips to each other's homes (tree house, garden, indoor rock climbing wall) and used maps to visit the Globe theater. LOVE https://t.co/Ms8DqOJA5G for virtual museum visits & activities #EDTECHGUYS
A6 for Q6 Educreations (ipad) is great to record math lessons and upload to Classroom. Jamboard (by Google) is an interactive whiteboard that can be used during a Meet to demonstrate problems. Whiteboard Fox as well. #EDTECHGUYS
@EKedzielawa@ANikolaTech@wcsdtechdr Are your Ss willing to let others see their videos, or are you the only one viewing? I tried Flipgrid as a just for fun activity, and there wasn't much participation. Other Ts I know report Ss not wanting their videos shared. May be the age? #EDTECHGUYS
A4 to Q4. Challenge to reading instruct. is lack of access to material & assurance that Ss are actually rdng. I combine Epic title w/Follet audio and upload Screencastify video to EdPuzzle. Ss listen, read along and answer q's embedded within. #EDTECHGUYS
A3 to Q3. Methods to engage include EDPuzzle, which requires Ss to respond before moving on, and Storyboard That which promotes creativity. Requiring responses in the chat box during Meets lets all Ss voices be heard. #EDTECHGUYS
A2 for Q2 S engagement online is evident by consistent completion of assignments, but mostly by communication via responses to feedback and asking of questions. It needs to be two-way communication #EDTECHGUYS
A1 for Q1. ELA teacher at VW. If you're not a meat eater, you must try this recipe for Korean barbecue tofu sliders https://t.co/GFQLBSMfsk #edtechguys
It's a wrap! Frozen Jr. was postponed...that did not stop the wonderful cast and crew from holding a virtual cast party! The best group of students and advisers.👍❄️☃️ @GriffinPride2@WCSDEmpowers@MsFurnia
