So why is this happening?
Today figures came out which show that 60% of patients who were medically fit to leave hospital at the end of January didn’t. Pointing to issues with social and community care.

In other words, last month a fairly small hospital in Greater Manchester had 28 times the number of people waiting >12 hours to be admitted compared to the whole of England in 2015 (ends)

In December 2015 in England NHS figures show 29 patients waited longer than 12 hours to be admitted to hospital from A&E
Last month that figure was 54,207 (1/4)

In Tameside Hospital in Greater Manchester this happened to 46% of the patients who were admitted last month - 805 people out of 1,763. (3/4)
