Our middle school @SSSASsaints are ready for Halloween! These students enjoyed a fall afternoon with tasty treats, spooky music, & pumpkins from @Immanuel_Parish. The Pumpkin Carving Party is hosted by the Diversity & Equity, Sustainability, and Service Learning campus leaders.
Thank you @BoatingIn_DC for an awesome final day of our @SSSASsaints minicourse adventures! These Saints loved exploring the Potomac River from @FletchersCove boathouse!
@MeganMcCubbin Iโm a middle school science teacher in the Washington, DC region. Any idea how I could get a copy of your Atlas of Endangered Species in the states? It looks fantastic for my classes!
@jmattmiller I have a question about your recent webinar about AI & cheating. Would appreciate connecting by DM if youโre willing to chat. Thanks!
Wondering if @SheldrickTrust can help me identify this Nairobi orphan. I visited in July and would love to know who I captured here! Thank you for all your efforts to protect & care for these beautiful animals.
For the second year in a row, @SSSASsaints scientists explored broad diversity in the sciences with help from amazing @IAmASTEM resources. Bonus - OUR Noor felt a connection with Noor Al-Alusi and modeled the year-end assignments after her! Thanks for your continued inspiration!
@matt_kastner@MeehanEDU@mrmatera This is a Google Slide deck, shared w/ Ss in Google Classroom. (Some info is โlockedโ in slide โtheme.โ) After each unit, I give Ss ~15 mins to add to their web & answer the unit slide Qs (progress glows/grows). I give brief informal feedback; no grades. They take it seriously!
Continually grateful for the wealth of ideas shared by #EMC2Learning. Our modified "personal record rubric" from @MeehanEDU & @mrmatera has significantly improved my science students' self-reflection process. So easy to track progress with a meaningful check-in after each unit!
@MeehanEDU Thanks so much, John! All the EMC2 activities Iโve used are wonderful- but this is seriously the most impactful. The concept is clear & concise, and it gives students (and me) such a great visual map of their self-assessed progress. I plan to post a copy of ours to the site soon.
@professordudlee@MeehanEDU Hi Amber - are you part of the #EMC2Learning community? (If not, you should consider it!) They have a few templates for it; I modified & added to one in order to suit our class needs. Iโm planning to make a copy of this and post there also - so check soon. https://t.co/8eOrAtwkvw
@buddyxo@genially_en Looking forward to your final cut! Iโve liked what Iโve seen on a few genially activities & would like to learn more about making my own.

Very tough! I spent more time between rows 3 & 4 on this one than I have on probably all my other puzzles combined haha. Persistence pays off.
@BioteachNg@MAST_SandyHook This looks so creative! I would love to hear more about the activity. Weโll be covering human impacts in ecosystems in the spring and are always up for exploring new activities!
One month in, and our @SSSASsaints scientists are hard at work! Seventh graders are solving challenges, collaborating, and showing off their content knowledge. Looking forward to what our next month brings!
