We had fun accepting Planet Patrol’s recycled art challenge this month by creating our own life sized Mr. Breckels, complete with his very own guitar! @MrBreckels@MaplehurstPS
While in writers workshop, Aces use an “I try/You show” for words they need help with while I am in a small group. After I finish with my group we take a look at some of the words we need help with. This often leads to some rich conversation and learning about spelling rules.
We were busy little beavers today in 3-1! We’ve been learning about structures and animal architects. Today we applied what we know about successful structures and beaver habitats to create our own dams. Here’s our before and afters. #gracesaces@MaplehurstPS
Happy Dot day! We celebrated “making your mark” with a CC discussion about random acts of kindness. We also celebrated the day of the dot with some adorable writing, math and art activities! #gracesaces@MaplehurstPS
Who doesn’t love a handmade card? Aces made handmade cards for their classmates birthdays and we all got to sign each one. We can’t wait to make each others special day even more special with a little love from our class family! #gracesaces@MaplehurstPS
Our community circle today was about positive affirmations and self talk. The voice we hear most often is the one inside our minds. Taking the time to be sure we are kind to ourselves. These are the building blocks for a life time of self care. #gracesaces@MaplehurstPS
We had a wonderful first week together in Grade 3. These kids are spectacular and I can’t wait to lead them through our journey together this year. I feel so grateful to have landed at Maplehurst. Go Mavericks! #gracesaces@MaplehurstPS
That’s a wrap! After 12 years as a Tiger, I am moving on to a new school! I am excited for this new chapter and I am so grateful to the staff and students @tigerjeetps for all their love and support over the years. Here’s to a new adventure @MaplehurstPS
After 5 years, I have locked up the library for the final time as teacher librarian. Thank you to all the students, staff and families of TJS. I will be taking a year off to travel and spend time with family. Looking forward to my next adventure!
Kindergarten story time is my very favourite part of being a TL. I love the connection we make at the start of their careers as Tigers. Its a relationship that continues throughout their time at TJS. Today was my very last one as a TL. I will miss them💔
