As a former basketball coach, the bill our gov signed does nothing to make girls sports more “fair” or “competitive”. This bill not only unnecessarily harms kids, it gets us further from the solution. The fact of the matter is our state is underfunding youth sports. 1/

...to get high levels of support. I try to focus on relationships over everything as coach, but I think lots of educators want things wrapped up in a nice box (as you pointed out.) Everyone is kind of obsessed with "Iowa nice". Any resources you recommend?

@sarahplumitallo I keel thinking of FB live video. Tried Google - got flooded with things supporting PBIS. I'm the PBIS coach for my school and the counselor. I have struggled with feeling like PBIS centers whiteness as valuable and identifies pain as "maladaptive behavior." ...

I look at who creates the expectations, the routines, the definitions and see mostly white women at the table. I want kids to feel like they can be all of themselves at school. Be done with code switching. As a counselor, I worry that kids have to show "maladaptive behavior"...
