@SharaTheOrion anyone he could recall from his limited knowledge of Star Trek. Outside of Worf, he couldn't remember any of their names. "Shar? What's going on?"
[STARTER for @SharaTheOrion]
He pushed the door open, keying in his passcode into the alarm panel. He dropped his duffel bag on the floor. “Shara? You home?” It had been almost a month away. The only sound he heard was Warlocke’s paws tapping across the kitchen floor.
@SharaTheOrion clearing in some woods.
As he felt his body being put back together, a feeling that made him retch slightly, he saw there weren't alone anymore. Looking up, he saw...Klingons? And Shara knew them? At least one of them. Hurak? He tried to remember if that was --
@SharaTheOrion in a thick wooded area. They had seen two parking areas with dirt trails leading up into something called Shady Elms State Park.
Pulling over at one of the the lots, he parked. "Looks like we go on on foot from here, sweetpea."
@SharaTheOrion He slowed, glancing at the cube. Watching the light pulsate, he maneuvered the SUV off the next off-ramp, then backtracked, trying to triangulate whatever it was leading them to. After a few miles and several left turns, he was pretty sure it was --
@SharaTheOrion The truck roared to life and they pulled out of the parking lot, the directional device leading them north into downtown Metropolis, then more northwest as they left the city. Mark got on I-95 and floored it. The city receding in the rear-view mirror. "It still pointing north?"
@SharaTheOrion "Sounds good!" Placing the directional tracker in the box, he carried it out to the truck, sliding between the seats. Grabbing his gear, he quickly double checked it as he waited for Shara. Satisfied he was ready, he slid into the drivers seat.
@SharaTheOrion "I definitely agree." He raised it up, watching it shift. "It's not shifting a lot, so whatever it's pointing to is a fair distance away. You have any gear here?" He would be shocked if she didn't. "My kit is in the truck. We could set out now?"
@SharaTheOrion He nodded. “Yeah, I think so. At least you are.” Giving her a smirky smile. “It came to you, but if you do, you’re not going alone.” He moved around the room, holding it. Testing his hypothesis. Everywhere he moved, it —
@SharaTheOrion pointed towards the northwest glowed darker. “I think it’s a directional device. It’s pointing northwest. The material is nothing like I’ve seen before.”
@SharaTheOrion its blue color, but the new side darkened to that violet color. Getting his orientation, it was pointing northwest. Lifting it up, he moved to a different part of the clinic. As he walked, turning it around in his hands. Each time, the face of the cube —
@SharaTheOrion Being an international mercenary, he’s pretty sure he’s never heard of Tynarra. Sure, there were a lot of newer smaller countries in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, but he’d remember one that rhymed with Shannara. “Oh. They ok? Where’s that?”
@SharaTheOrion sighed. Double checking the box and packing one more time.
Setting aside the box, he turned his attention back to the cube. “Does this look familiar to you?”
@SharaTheOrion wide, made of glass or crystal. Reaching down, he lifted it out. The cube, warm to the touch, was translucent, almost glowing. Placing it on the table, he pulled the rest of the foam of the box, hoping to find instructions or a clue. Nothing. He —
