Today is the day I hang up my hat as a student and put on the hat of an Occasional Teacher! It has been a long road and winding journey to get me to where I stand today. I am beyond grateful and have a lot to celebrate! #blessed #teacher 👩‍🏫

So proud of these young inventors for sharing their creations at yesterday’s Forces Fair! They built prototypes, created animation demos, and coded @microbit_edu to represent the different forces involved in their projects. Way to go Gr. 3! @wfwolvestvdsb @TVDSB @MsHealey18

This week we are introducing word problems combining addition, subtraction and money concepts. Today we played Race to $1.00 Teacher Vs. Students (they won of course!) for review of our coins. We then broke off into small groups using VNPS to solve the word problem! 💰➕➖

We are learning to use benchmarks to help us count coins on a number line. Ss worked on their proportional reasoning skills as they placed different values on the number line & used different groups of coins to represent values. @wfwolvestvdsb @tvdsbmathk8 @MsHealey18

Today was the medal ceremony for our Wilberforce Olympics! 🎉 Teams competed in four events yesterday and received different medals to celebrate their hard work. We loved taking team photos with the green screen in the LLC too! @wfwolvestvdsb @MsHealey18 @TVDSB

Ss are working on decoding and phoneme substitutions during this week’s small group meetings with our amazing teacher candidate @MsHealey18. @wfwolvestvdsb @TVDSBLiteracy

A fun day of science experiment centers with @MsHealey18 as Ss experimented with friction, gravity, and magnetism. They also worked together to research different natural forces such as hurricanes and earthquakes. @wfwolvestvdsb

Adding the finishing touches to their inventions in preparation for our Forces Fair! Ss have been incorporating their knowledge of structures and forces as they built prototypes of inventions that could solve social and environmental issues. @wfwolvestvdsb @tvdsb @MsHealey18

Gr. 3 Engineers created blueprints & began constructing prototypes for their Forces inventions. Ss are using multiplicative thinking to track their spending on materials & will calculate pay earned on time sheets by jumping on a number line. @wfwolvestvdsb @TVDSB @MsHealey18

I am sitting in awe tonight as I watch @mrsmcb_edu present at this years Western’s Makers Conference! She spoke on fostering a maker mindset through purposeful integration of technology. I truly feel I am in the best hands to learn from. 💙📚

I have had the pleasure to be teaching my first science unit with @mrsmcb_edu .Right now we are focusing on forces. Yesterday we learned about magnetism and played stick it. The students enjoyed exploring the classroom and divided objects that are magnetic and non-magnetic. 🧲📎

Ss had a blast at our Wilberforce Olympics this afternoon as they worked as a team on different physical challenges planned by @MsHealey18 for outdoor Phys. Ed.! @wfwolvestvdsb

It’s a Snow Day for our class but we’re still having fun learning remotely thanks to our amazing teacher candidate, @MsHealey18, who put together an engaging choice board to support our current learning goals @wfwolvestvdsb @tvdsb

I can’t express how grateful I am for @mrsmcb_edu and @wfwolvestvdsb for such a welcoming and wonderful first couple of weeks student teaching. I couldn’t have asked to be placed in a better class and school 💙💙
