It’s the final look at our science experiment in Year 1! The banana is pretty decomposed (and some greenery is starting to sprout!) and the plastic bag remains the same. Most children predicted this but thought the banana would decompose more quickly! #science
We might be learning from home again, but there’s lots of learning going on in Year 1! We’re counting money in maths, exploring poems about seasons in reading, and we’re writing sentences to share our knowledge of Kings and Queens in Writing. #Year1#ArkTindal
Year 1 visited Cannon Hill Park today. We identified trees and flowers using the reference cards we made in science lessons. I had so much fun, I forgot to take pictures! But here’s one of us looking at my favourite tree. #Nature#trees#science
Reminder - Thursday is take your colander to work day. 11.13 BST on Thursday go outside with your pupils and safely observe partial eclipse by looking at the pattern on the ground as the sun shines through the holes in the colander. 🌞
Year 1 had some very special visitors for our PSHE lesson. We learnt about the importance of looking after pets. Phoebe also joined us! Thank you for letting us borrow them for our lesson EYFS. #chicks#pet#care#PSHE.
It's that time again! Our book fair is back on Tuesday 18th May. Every book bought contributes to free books for our school library AND it's 3 for 2! #winning Click on the link to browse through all the wonderful titles on offer https://t.co/glwMXuir9O @ARKTindal
‘Dirt’ was originally ‘drit’. By a process know as metathesis the ‘i’ and ‘r’ were transposed. The same thing happened to brid (bird), hros (horse) and waps (wasp).
1 Manchester are currently obsessed with finding ‘rocks’ and exploring their size, shape and texture. Consequently, the corner of my desk regularly hosts their discoveries, ready to share with the rest of the class. Today was a slow day, but the current record is 8 rocks! 🪨
We’ve got some more visitors in Year 1! We’re just looking after them for Reception & Nursery, so we will need to give them back, but we’re excited to see what happens. #whatsinthere? @ARKTindal@AliTindal@MrsKhanTindal
