We demand accountability from everyone regardless of which leader or political party is in power.

Andhbhakts, this is not a victory of Congress or the Left wing, this is a victory of youngsters who are aware of how to be governed and who know what questions to ask when.
At the end of the day, it's the Constitution that wins and shall prevail over anything and everything.

Just to set the record straight:

If the stakeholders have failed to do their job, that's on them. But the narrative being pushed by certain journalists, particularly on Public TV, and amplified by the BJP is both irresponsible and misleading.

Shivajinagar ≠ Muslims.

The attack on the GBA engineers was allegedly led by Basavaraj Pudukote, president of the Karnataka Sene state unit. The other accused identified by the police are Rangaswamy, Kottresh, Parasuram, Bharath, Kiran, Mujahid Ahmad, Parthiban, Ranjit, and Raghu.

Out of all those arrested, only one is Muslim. The rest are not.

Yet an entire locality and an entire community are being painted with the same brush. That's peak of stereotyping. And it's exactly the kind of narrative some politicians in the BJP thrive on.
Facts matter. Stop demonising neighbourhoods. Stop communalising crime. Hold individuals accountable and not entire communities.

Mrs. Chennamma Deve Gowda, the wife of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, has passed away. She was a very devout and deeply ritualistic person. She was very supportive when I was researching the biography of her husband (Furrows in a Field), but refused to give a formal interview. I always found her affectionate. She spoke little but blessed with her eyes closed, and with all her heart. She always insisted that I never left their home without a proper sit down meal, and she served generously. She was from another time and another world. Since she presided over the household of politicians she saw a lot of ups and downs, and had to withstand loads of pain and suffering too. In my book there is a picture of Mrs. Gowda offering prayers at 7 Race Course Road as the Prime Minister’s wife in 1996, that is the image that defines her.

The other image here is of Mrs. Gowda with the first copy of her husband’s biography in Kannada translation. She is seen with my wife, Rosy, also the translator.

Also, read a passage from my biography from a time when she had just then married Mr. Gowda. That was in 1954. It was 72 years of steadfast companionship.

BK Hariprasad didn't walk into 'Sankalpa Samavesha' at Palace Grounds today as a power-seeker but as someone who started from NSUI, spent decades building the party from the ground up, and called the KPCC presidency "a sacred responsibility, not power."
I think that one line separates the career politician from the cadre man.

He workers today: "Don't bring garlands. Donate to the party."
Certainly these are not optics, not ceremony, but organisation. He spent years as AICC General Secretary, nurturing workers in the party's worst seasons. Today's speech - quoting Kuvempu, citing Ambedkar, naming Godse, wasn't written for cameras but to announce that this is 40 years of party life currently at the helm of it.

My maid who belongs to Tamil Nadu cried today when Vijay almost proved majority.
She says her son's and his friends have resolved that they won't remove the TVK Tee shirt until Vijay swears in as the CM of Tamil Nadu.

Today her son refused to eat because Vijay couldn't prove majority.
What this says is - TVK rising to power wasn't a fluke, he appealed well to the young voters and this rise to power was strategically planned.

On May 04, 1799 - Tipu Sultan was killed today.

Pretty much none of us know that Taramandalpet which his father Hyder Ali developed and he groomed is one of Bengaluru's most historically rich, yet largely forgotten - localities, nestled within the old Pete area of Bengaluru.

"Taramandal" literally means cluster of stars or galaxy in Kannada/Sanskrit, and "Pet" means market. The locality earned this evocative name because Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan's rocket testing would light up the night sky - making the area look like a galaxy of stars to residents.
Taramandalpet was established as a rocket manufacturing hub around 1770 by Hyder Ali, with assistance from French scientists and engineers. This made it one of India's earliest defense research and weapons manufacturing centers - a true 18th-century "tech hub."
The rockets made here were transported to Tipu's underground armoury in Kalasipalya, and from there via underground tunnels to Tipu's fort during wartime.

British General Lord Cornwallis documented the facility extensively in his 1,500-page personal diary, praising Hyder Ali's large rocket-making unit inside the people's fort in today's Taramandalpet area. He even sent over 300 Indian-origin British sepoys as spies to survey the facility.

After Tipu's defeat in the Third Anglo-Mysore War (1790–92), the British captured Bangalore fort, cleared the rocket-making unit, and closed the underground tunnel system. The facility was effectively erased - with one striking exception.
A 6.5-foot-tall stone pillar in Taramandalpet is believed to be the only remaining artifact from the rocket factory. Historians identify it as a light pillar - lamps would be lit on it to help engineers work on rockets through the night.

Bengaluru's Oldest Mosque
Taramandalpet is also home to the Sangeen Jamia Masjid (also called the Taramandal Mosque) - considered the oldest mosque in Bengaluru, originally built in 1687 when Khasim Khan, a Mughal commander, controlled Bangalore. The mosque stands on Siddanna Lane in the Taramandalpet market area.

Today
The area is now a dense, busy urban market, part of the broader Bangalore Pete commercial district. While its rocket-making legacy is rarely discussed, it represents a fascinating chapter in Indian military history - predating ISRO's first rocket launch by nearly two centuries.
Cannonballs and relics connected to this era were unearthed as recently as 2012 during Namma Metro construction near Vani Vilas Hospital, and are now displayed at Venkatappa Art Gallery.
