The last day of my 20th year is the most bittersweet of them all. I never thought I would ever doubt how much longer I can keep teaching because it is my dream job, but here we are and I know so many educators feel the same.
@NicholasFerroni Just finished the end of my 25th year. Indeed, I feel the same as you my friend. The word 'demoralized' doesn't even begin to cover how I feel at this point in my career. Going to hang in here for another 5 years and continue hoping and working to make it better. Godspeed.
All children, no matter their background, deserve to have access to advanced learning opportunities. Read the recommendations from the National Working Group on Advanced Education on how to build a wider, more diverse pipeline of advanced learners. https://t.co/rmedYdNV6v
100%. Every school through secondary schools ought to be phone-free, excepting extremely limited and specific situations. They are not helpful nor useful for any academic purpose I’ve ever seen and have only ever caused problems. #edutwitter https://t.co/asAtqjxEgg
The anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster is the right day to remind everyone in the world how fragile our security is. And even more so when the threat of a radiation catastrophe at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, artificially created by 🇷🇺, has been looming every day and every minute for more than a year already.
Only 🇺🇦 full control over the #ZNPP can restore full security not only for our country, but also for the entire Europe and the whole world.
Radiation does not recognize state borders, just like 🇷🇺. And only full compliance with the rules can guarantee safety.
"There’s an apathy that pervades the entire classroom.”
As more schools adopt "equity grading," teachers & students have found that the changes demotivated high achievers, led to a lack of accountability, & did not prepare kids for the real world. https://t.co/9P5viii1ds
@ECallawayBio Nope. Not grading it but there’s a lot to be said for why it’s so poor overall. Plus, after 25 years, I’ve died in more than my share of hills and don’t intend to do that ever again.
EVERYONE: Gov. Youngkin's PROPOSED policy to roll back protections for trans students is NOT in effect yet.
Let's be clear:
1. A 30-day public comment period starts on 9/26.
2. This is not a done deal. And we need all of you with us.
3. Trans youth are NOT alone in this fight.
