@SirAlexas It is because the judge needs to listen to any mitigating factors that a convicted person and the victims family may have. For example, a 7months pregnant mother may be sentenced differently from a person with no family. It gives the judge the opportunity to be humane.

Today I paid a courtesy call to CEO of @Kakuzi_Plc in Murang’a. I was impressed to note the role the company is playing in value addition, aggregation and community engagement. They have fully integrated smallholder farmers into their ecosystem.

What impressed me most is that Kakuzi has a Human Rights Awareness Manager with a key mandate of engaging all employees and stakeholders to ensure that their rights are guaranteed and protected.

We also spoke of the things Kakuzi needs to focus on to become a Murang’a Company rather than a company in Murang’a. Let’s grow together.
