Being able to talk with my students about how I’m researching solar cells during our energy source unit is so fun! They ask so many great questions and I get to share new info with them. Getting my M.S. in Chem was the best decision I’ve ever made.

Connected w/ more with students today than I have all year because of the stress check messages I sent out. It’s only day one of distance learning, but it’s definitely not too early to check in and see how they’re feeling about it.

Two things:
1. @PearDeck continues to be the best distance learning tool to promote engagement

2. Started with a general stress check today and it has been SO helpful so far in figuring out who needs what this week

Somehow managed to plan out the next five weeks of class (in theory). Fingers crossed the majority of this works because I would love to get a break from lesson planning! 🤞🏻

1,000 moments of engagement in 2 weeks of school using @PearDeck!! Anonymous responses changed the game in my classes this year, and seeing the pride in kids faces when posting their anon. answers for the class makes it even more worth it. ❤️ using PearDeck!

My prof just taught us how to use chemistry to make frogs levitate using a magnet. Definitely using that in my magnetics unit this year! 🐸

Completed the first week of in-person teaching since March, and the best part was last year’s students stopping by or messaging me to say hello. I’ve missed those kids, and I’m so excited to cheer them - and my new students - on in all they do this year!
