Ms. Longenecker

@CobbMSCyclones teacher of Engineering, Design & Innovation (EDI) and Digital Graphics & Animation (DGA). 21-22 CMS Teacher of the Year 👩🏼‍🏫

[Ms. Longenecker @MsLNecker]

I commissioned an #animation from this kiddo for his final project in DGA. He spent weeks working to finish it by break. A big step toward his goal to go to art school — his first commissioned piece. May I present to you: A Baymax Christmas! #FISDelevate #ourFISDstory #WeAreCobb

Yesterday was just the best. I cannot wait to see what the world has in store for them! @CobbMSCyclones

Senior breakfast yesterday. Beaming with pride. She was in my first group of animation students after switching from 12 years of math. She told me she’s going to college to be an animator. Has very little to do with me and all with her talent, but I’m so proud! #FISDmadetoshine

EDI students spent last week researching and creating a 3D plan of a Rube Goldberg machine on CAD software.

This week they have been building and testing their plans, improving their designs, providing feedback to others and collaborating with their partners. #FISDmadetoshine

Got to celebrate some of my favorite kiddos last night at Senior Night with @WakelandHS tennis! 🧡💙

Watched some matches, talked about life and told them I better see those faces again at the @CobbMSCyclones senior breakfast in May! #FISDmadetoshine

We kicked off our Kindness Initiative today at Cobb and I’m excited to see how our kiddos support each other.

I set a goal for myself in August to thank a sub anytime I saw them leaving for the day. I did this again today and it’s clear how much it’s needed and appreciated. ❤️

EDI students worked this week on fine tuning the use of the engineering design process.

We did a small task — design a paper shelter that shields from sun (flashlight) and holds a pack of index cards on top.

Next week comes the first REAL engineering project! #FISDmadetoshine

Sent a glowing email home on a kiddo who had really gone above and beyond on an animation project. Truly some of best work I’ve seen in my 5 years.

He stopped me today and said “They read me your email.”

“Yay! Are you proud?”

“Yes ma’am.”

“I am too.”

This is why I teach.🥹

Happy college week and anniversary to my favorite photo ever with my teaching partner @TJinHistory. This will always make me laugh. #GigEm #SicEm

Major shoutout to @friscoisd maintenance. My room flooded over the weekend and they were here all week for repairs.

Got the green light this AM to reconnect everything (miraculously there was no damage to ANY tech) and we will be back in for class on Monday! 🥳 #FISDmadetoshine

@mrserinjewell @canva YAAAAS CANVA COMING THROUGH!!!

[Ms. Longenecker @MsLNecker]

Hey @canva, I’m supposed to be using your site in like 25 minutes for class today and all I’m getting is “502 Bad Gateway” when I open the site. HAAAAALP.

[Ms. Longenecker @MsLNecker]

Students in engineering (EDI) worked on important components of the course today: communication, teamwork and executing a plan.

The goal was to use all the given supplies to ricochet a ping pong ball three times into a cup at the end. @CobbMSCyclones @friscoisd #FISDmadetoshine

#FISDmadetoshine is trending #2 on Twitter! Your plan worked @waldripm!!

[Ms. Longenecker @MsLNecker]

I want to thank @TJinHistory and @mrsgestes for being my absolute best friends in life and school. You truly find some of the best people within the 4 walls of a school. Thanks for doing life with me ladies! #FISDmadetoshine

Look at these happy @CobbMSCyclones! We have quite a few new teachers this year but can you tell who from this photo? Nope. #family #PLCismyjam #madetoshine @friscoisd
