10yrs ago my husband was doing a jump and broke 11rins and his collarbone, I slept in a chair for the first 4 days making sure he was still breathing, the Dr’s said if his lung didn’t collapse the first 24hrs he “might” be able to make it.

During that time his best friend proceeded to put toe tags on him and draw a Hitler stache on his oxygen and vampire fangs on his collar and tell the nurses he had to pee, when he didn’t. I didn’t hear his voice for 5 days.

That was the moment I realized, What he meant to me, all the adventures, the passion, the gifts, the parties meant nothing. The thought of being without him meant everything.
