@WitcherForHire ~over and pours herself another shot, silently cursing the shabby tavern for buying the cheapest whiskey they could find. She takes this shot slower than the first, allowing the liquid to coat the inside of her mouth before swallowing.

@WitcherForHire “You are correct, I’ve never heard of it. Nor have I heard of Witchers. I’m familiar with the term witches, but not Witchers. What, or who, are they?” She asks, unable to contain her curiosity about the man seated across from her.

Straightening her posture, Manda reaches~

@WitcherForHire ~”What is North? I’ve been considering leaving this place and going where no one knows my name. Then, perhaps, life wouldn’t be so dull.”

@WitcherForHire Tilting her head to one side, Manda’s brows furrow in confusion.

“You don’t know where you’re from? Have you no place to call home?”

Copying his lead, Manda picks up her own shot of whiskey and throws it back, immediately chasing it with the beer to drown out the taste.~

@WitcherForHire ~Exciting place, huh?” She says, a soft laugh escaping her lips. “You’re not from here, though, are you?”

@WitcherForHire Tracing the rim of her glass with the top of her index finger, Manda silently contemplates whether or not she should tell Geralt the truth. It wasn’t as if telling the truth would expose some deep secret of hers, so the truth is what she decided upon.

“I’m from around here.~

@WitcherForHire ~It had been so long since she had had someone to talk to, she was afraid she had forgotten how to act.

@WitcherForHire Settling herself in one of the old, rickety chairs, Manda leans forward and accepts the man’s hand before shaking it.

“It’s nice to meet you, Geralt. I’m Manda.”

She replies, offering her new acquaintance a ghost of a smile. It was strange, introducing herself to someone.~

@WitcherForHire “I’ll have the same.” She told the bartender as she fishes a few coins out of her pocket for payment. “And keep them coming.”

Careful not to make eye contact with anyone, Manda weaves her way through the tables and chairs, her sight set on an empty table in the back.

@WitcherForHire “I’ll tell you, once I’ve a drink in me.” She replies, pressing her hand flat against the door of the tavern and pushing it open before stepping inside.

It was dark; the only light being that of a few dimly lit candles spaced sparingly around the room.

“What are you having?”

@WitcherForHire Slowly, Manda begins moving in the direction of the tavern; a drink was much needed.

“Not all at once, no; they slowly cut me out of their lives. Although, it’s amazing how quickly some people will turn on you once you associate yourself with another...breed of people.”

@WitcherForHire “Oh, I used to have friends...and was a part of a very social circle, but everyone’s left. It’s just me now.” She admits, a little reluctantly.

“I’m not the most honest person, but I have no reason to be dishonest with you.”

@WitcherForHire Shrugs nonchalantly. “I have no friends nor acquaintances to be generous to, so why not be generous to a stranger?”
