I’ll be sitting beside a patient today, holding their hand as they pass Not their spouse, children, grandchildren..just me. The family will zoom. The families don’t complain, don’t ask us to meet their needs. They understand why.
You? Slapping their faces with their sacrifices
As a Waikato kid,I spent Saturdays on the sideline watching Craig play rugby with my big brothers. He moved to the UK to play for Harlequins & Eng B. Now he's riding across USA with Peter Winterbottom to raise funds for MND, navigating his own Dementia onset

This photo brings me happiness on so many levels!! The late, great Jerry Collin's daughter playing for England in #SixNationsU18, supported by his Mum & Sister.
I know how incredibly proud he will be. 🤩 #JC6
@adriendecroy @pali_paulie @davidfarrier 'Kids don't get to choose the environment they are brought up in'?? I'm sincerely hoping that you are not, in any way, implying that Brooke was
a) brought up in anything other than a loving family environment
b) raised by parents who went to Hillsong
(Family are non Christian)
21 years ago, this month, he rode into my life. 9 years ago today he left this earth.
I love him and I miss him.
Grateful I will always love him for more days than I miss him 🖤

@kim_hewitt1808 He tells me his luck game is next level, that pursuing a pallative nurse, prior to his diagnosis, will be his claim to fame.
Irony never fails to bring me amusement.
Thank you for you lovely words. x
@KTLA My sincerest condolences to Sam's wife, children & his KTLA family.
Sam had an innate ability to tell a story that made it feel like we were living in the same city, when actually we were on the other side of the world.
His appeal was far reaching, to lose him, devastating 💔
@IanMatTheBar @KeyOrderFarNo @KPP_Studios_NZ @nzherald The association is not unnecessary or disingenuous. A large part of why she was employed by the gentleman was due to her involvement within the church.
@KPP_Studios_NZ @nzherald A vendetta?? Seriously?? Her theft started in April 2021, escalated when the victim was recovering from a heart attack, & resulted in leaving a 72yr old man, who works endlessly for NZ youth, to be $377k out of pocket, and now in debt.
And, NO drag queens were involved.
@StephDyhrberg Oh sweet baby jebus!! Steph, get out now! It's all downhill from here. Think about what happens when the current roll runs empty. There's only one place for the cardboard tube to go, in order for the next roll to take the perch.....On The Floor!!!.
Go and don't look back

My 4, so far this year,
1 became a Senior Financial Manager, 1 expanded her business into new premises & doubled turnover, 1 has been pre-approved for a 1st home loan of $1m, & 1 is top 5 sales in Aus/NZ for T/A co she works in.
@SmilerTurner@WorkSafeNZ Absolutely...it seems like they write their own rule book and also looks like team Doctors don't answer to the same NZ Medical Council as every other registered medical practitioner.

2002: NZ Rugby document states: “Repeated concussions may cause permanent damage to the brain.”
2018: Billy Guyton retires after 17 recorded concussions.
2023: Battling mental health issues he dies aged 33.
2024: Stage 2 CTE found in his brain.

And the following week, Steve & his concussion symptoms got promoted from the bench to the starting XV.
Player welfare in NZ is consistent....abysmal in 2006, abysmal today.
Some quality medical work here. Steve Devine out cold for at least 30 seconds. Medic talks to coaches on mic, a minute later, he's good to go continue.
Devine retired aged 29 with lingering concussion symptoms.....

@steelbanks And another 2006 shining example of NZ Rugby's (lack of) commitment to concussion prevention/management....not only did they leave Steve on the field, the following week he was in the Blues starting XV
@AlixPopham@WorldRugby They knew..and yet in 2006, in Bledisloe #2 a player who'd been concussed at 15.49mins stayed on the field until 61.50mins
6 days later he was back on the field. Yes, SIX
Bledisloe #3 saw Carl Hayman get concussed. I question what level of concussion management he received.
