Wages are up, gas prices are down, and people are back at work.

Americans have some good news going into this Labor Day weekend.

Jake Wightman has become the World 1500m champion. Geoff calling his son becoming a World Champion is priceless. Helene, part of our team, filmed Dad. I sat with Mum Susan..then could not wait to give my mate a hug. Beyond proud. ❤️@JakeSWightman @WightmanGeoff @SusanWightman6

A5. I think that the news cycle is terrible and a huge opportunity for kids to express their thinking. They feel powerful urgency of now. There are real world problems that we need to solve. That is validating and empowering.

A4. I think the thinking routines are a great way to keep stoking the fire of engagement whist the kiddos are in their own homes. It's easy to do this in the classroom, hard when there is relative isolation. But a routine can help to connect in a meaningful way. #PMTVchat

Online learning is actually a really good fit for curation of collections that lead to thinking. There is no limit to your collection and there is more time to think than you might typically have in class.

A3. Interest. I am thinking about going to the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, NY. As you meander you get caught up in eras of toys. You first get sucked in by what is familiar to you and then that familiarity gets stretched in different directions.

@BarberisMaria @mrwinnchemistry Great idea! I love when students realize they are living history!

[Sarah Neely @MsNeely204]

@cpaterso Right on! Often education is more about checking boxes than learning or solving problems. Adults are terrible at thinking without finding and easy fix.

@AshleyMNaranjo @SmithsonianLab @WISSIT_DC This sounds amazing!

A2: There are some insightful models of pairing museum resources with thinking routines shared in the spring 2020 “Easy PZ” webinar series facilitated by @SmithsonianLab and @WISSIT_DC. Check them out here: https://t.co/ikquzCQYzs 2/2 #PMTVchat

A2. The local historical society and library are a wealth of photos and maps that use with second graders in Social Studies. We do some See Think Wonders. #PMTVchat

A1. I love the give one Get One. My kids mingle around the room with their Learning Logs to share ideas. We do that several times and then we consolidate the learning. #PMTVchat

@EveGEaton If you can lead meetings with Thinking routines in place it makes a huge difference!

[Sarah Neely @MsNeely204]

@mwmedvinsky @MyTLee3 Agreed! Teachers need to have the same opportunities to learn with these best practices that we are learning and using for kids. You teach what you know. #PMTVchat
