Delicia was a giant. The future of music education in Ontario & beyond. She cared deeply.
She was one of a kind and truly authentic. In three years she had an unprecedented impact on the OMEA and we all learned so much from her.
Out of words on this one.
I will miss you.
Grade 3 & 4 students in Ms. Sharp’s class got to try holding and blowing into a flute today! We talked about how to produce a sound on it and why it’s a part of the woodwind family! #musiceducation#music@jackminer_ps

Way to go Nighthawks! We crushed our school goal of $2000 which resulted in a bunch of teachers getting dunked with Ice Water! Mr. Bigness showing everyone just how cold the water is in the picture below! @jackminer_ps#Nighthawks
If every young person was given the chance to learn a musical instrument, and take part in music ensembles, the world would be a significantly better place.
Because music teachers aren’t told this enough - thank you! Thank you for everything. Thank you for the difference you make in the lives of everyone you teach. Thank you for giving people a chance to shine, and a chance to discover who they are and who they can be. Thank you.
The Music Department is a Multipurpose Department. It’s a place of music, a place of learning, a place of comfort, a place of sharing, a place of understanding, a place of celebrating, a place of friendship, and a place of belonging. There’s so much more to music than just music.
Happy #MusicMonday
Today we celebrate music education in our schools.
It’s essential. It’s important. It’s crucial to the well-being of our children.
It teaches creativity, collaboration, persistence, resilience, empathy and expression.
