Senate Republicans bolted Washington for August recess without passing Trump's SAVE America Act — the voter integrity bill the president has hammered his own party over for weeks.

Despite promises from hardliners like Sen. Mike Lee that they'd block the exit until the bill passed, every suitcase was packed and every flight was booked. The bill now waits until mid-September at the earliest, with a shrinking calendar that includes another month-long recess in October ahead of midterms.

Republicans also shelved a $150 billion budget reconciliation vote after Trump himself intervened over concerns it would fail on the floor. The plan was to use that process to bypass the filibuster on SAVE — but now both efforts are in limbo.

A Ukrainian drone strike set a warehouse belonging to Wildberries, an online retailer described as Russia's answer to Amazon, on fire, injuring one person, according to regional officials.

The company said it evacuated workers and rerouted deliveries after the attack, while officials reported damage to other industrial sites and apartment buildings in the region.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has repeatedly accused the company of providing Russian forces with drone components, navigation equipment, and other military components.
