Schools scared to death.
The truth is, one education under desks,
Stooped low from bullets;
That plunge when we ask
Where our children
Shall live
& how
& if

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” This country’s greatness and true genius lies in its diversity.
I wonder if people realize that, as recently as the 90s, calling dozens of other nations "shitholes" in a formal meeting of U.S. officials would have resulted in a president being censured by Congress—especially as the racist remark was preceded by comments about AIDS and "huts".
Ive traveled and worked in Haiti, and across Africa and Central America. The countries the president described with his epithet do not exist. Some thoughts as we remember those lost in Haiti eight years ago today: https://t.co/iXJwEAo2f6
@RAMhaiti Amazing that she has lived such a long life. She must have witnessed and seen so much. May her eternal rest be peaceful. Prayers for you and family.
