We used Alanis Morissette to practice irony today. I definitely heard a few students singing “It’s like raaaaaaaaain on your wedding day” after class was over. 😅
Closing the 📚 on the 2020-2021 school year. This one was certainly one that I will never forget! Time to relax and recharge before getting ready for next school year.
I am so unbelievably proud to be a teacher and so incredibly thankful for the amazing educators that I have met along the way. This year has been challenging, but the students are still learning, and relationships are still being built. ❤️
I decided that this was a fitting shirt to wear today. After all, it was one year ago when I last had a classroom full of students and I thought we would be back after a two week quarantine. A lot has changed since then, but learning continues!
When a student comes after school for help with run-on sentences, colons, and semicolons, and they bring their own sample sentences to practice with... BEST DAY EVER.
BIG LIFE EVENT ALERT: Officially starting my MA with a concentration in Literary and Cultural Studies at EIU this week. I’ll be taking a class that examines the rhetorical strategies of activism campaigns on social media platforms. 💙
PWMSA Virtual Spirit week was a success! Check out some of my favorite looks for the themed learning days that I developed with my team to encourage students to turn their cameras on. 😊
Life has been stressful lately, and I miss seeing students faces, so I have designated this week to be virtual PWMSA Spirit Week! Every day has a theme, and students have to turn their cameras on to check in for the final tally. Day 1: Pajama Day ✅
Things heard in ELA today as we started chapter 11 of Lord of the Flies: “Ms. R, I’m telling you right now, I’m gonna square up if Jack and the other kids do something to my guy Piggy before the end of the book.”
Who’s gonna tell them? 👀👀
