Always help an upset child by calming yourself first. Once you have calmed yourself, hold the child closely and breathe deeply. Young children must feel our calm in order to become calm themselves. #iHeartCD

This kid. So afraid of doing stuff wrong, I model before every drawing he does. Not this one! Discovered he likes rainbows. I said, want to draw a rainbow? He added himself wearing a crown as well, no prompting. This whole thing- no prompting, no model! #proudpara #weBelieveInBRE

When praising and + interacting w Ss, start by using their first name. Many Ss hear their name only followed by corrections.
Ss associate their name w correction and tune out the +.
How does this affect S #behavior and engagement?
