After learning about communities & ecosystems, grade 4’s started looking at animal diets and different food chains today! Ss built a food chain and discussed where the producers, consumers and decomposers go. #grade4science@StCeciliaOCSB @j_lacelle
Grade 6’s practiced using many different mental math strategies today. A strong mental math foundation helps students understand number relationships they can apply in real life scenarios! A great lesson to teach at the start of the year. @StCeciliaOCSB @j_lacelle
To start off our unit on habitats and communities, grade 4’s created a KWL chart about what they know, want to know and have learned about habitats! Ss worked together to discuss and compare the needs of plants, animals & humans :) @StCeciliaOCSB @j_lacelle
Grade 6’s worked on representing whole numbers in both standard and expanded form! They used place value charts to practice using whole numbers up to 1 million. We also discussed ways we use and recognize large numbers in everyday life. Great work :) @StCeciliaOCSB @j_lacelle
